Great job so far but using RTV in places like you did is not advised! eventually the extra material comes off, gets into the oil and the pump pushes it through the motor where it WILL eventually plug an oil port somewhere leading to catastrophic failure, thread sealing tape or non-hardening PVC paste is what's recommended.

Quick question that I’m sure you answered somewhere in the videos - did you end up having to use different manifold studs to get the CX manifold on there? I’m having trouble getting the very last rear nut on the stock stud

All I can say is good luck haha. I think I ended up cutting a 14mm wrench and tried to tighten it up as best as I could. After that I took a deep socket 14mm and literally shaved it down as much as I could and then tightened it up some more.

@Knownworldwide

You don’t need to do anything with them if you’re not planning on using them. Mine are just there open. It’s just an inlet and an outlet. So if nothing is going in, nothing will come out. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video. Hope you decide to stick around.

Hi do you have any recommendations on removing the oil pan? Just started the turbo install and I just loosened the motor mounts. i don’t have an engine lift, only jacks. Will jacking it up from where the engine and trans meet be enough?Just looking at the bolts in the back looks super tight
@Knownworldwide
3 ай бұрын
@@HIHGSCHOOL It’s going to be a very tight squeeze on the back bolts. But what I suggest you do is loosen the passenger side mount and the driver side mount and jack the engine up using the transmission bell housing. This should give you enough room to get all the bolts off. You might have to get creative on the back bolts to get them off. But trust me, you’ll be able to get them off.
@HIHGSCHOOL

@@Knownworldwide thank you. It can never be too easy with this car but I’m used to it at this point. The intake manifold was another tight one to remove lol. You ever thought of going forward facing manifold? I’m hoping using gte throttle body will keep the engine and transmission happy since I’m still auto
@Knownworldwide
3 ай бұрын
@@HIHGSCHOOL Yeah. It’s not the worse oil pan I’ve had to remove but definitely harder than most cars. As far as the FFIM goes. That is the goal eventually but I am going to stick with the ugly crossover intake as of now just to see how far I can push it. To confirm, the best FFIM is the Supra one. I was going to go with the DODO racing adapter to run a GTE upper plenum on the adapter. That way you can retain the electric throttle body.
@HIHGSCHOOL
3 ай бұрын
@@Knownworldwide yeah I went with the vvti and will be using the dodo manifold. Throttle plugs for ge vvti and gte vvti are the same, only thing that needs to be done is a bit of rewiring as well as relocating ecu and power steering reservoir for a bit more space. I’ll keep you posted on the overall process with the intake

You ran the tap backwards... should have come from the outside in. That is not a solid connection
@Knownworldwide

Nope. Doesn’t matter which way you run a tap, it’s the same thread direction either way. Doesn’t leak a single drop.
@Nathaaaaaniel
7 ай бұрын
@@Knownworldwide For a NPT tap the direction does matter, NPT is national pipe thread and its a tapered thread. It uses the taper to seal the threads (and actually deforms them). A standard UNC or UNF tap doesnt matter as its a straight thread. It looks like you ran the tap all the way through which essentially removed the taper; @MrMacGiollaChainnigh is correct, this is not a solid (at least not proper) connection and is probably only engaging 2-3 threads. Not trying to be a dick, just a piece of constructive criticism.
