Bravo! Nice Beach Cleanup if everyone would do that and others not polute our shores will remain pristine for future generations and theirs. Great video. I took my wife to Assateaque Island and we stayed in a large tent. I surf fished and in the middle of the night a wild horse smelled our food and decided to try and help itself. I shewed it away and it was one of the best vacation ever. Except for the bugs, but we were prepaired for that. Made (Love Omelettes - king crab- pepperjack cheese- mushrooms onions peppers drawn butter and lemon) in the morning on the campfire grill with hash browns and bacon and champaign mimosas. Cheers

Great finds!! Just got back from OC on Monday. The OSV route was closed due to the winds all weekend and we couldn’t get out to the beach. Tried to shell hunt by the hotel but someone beat me to all the welk shells! Did get a few skate egg cases and a few good oyster clusters. Thanks for sharing! Love your content!! It’s making our decision to move there when I retire much easier! Stay Safe and God Bless!

The whelk shells are beautiful! The pegs on the wood are treenails. Probably held the frame together. Could it be from the wreck of the Sallie W. Kaye, 1883? Interesting to think about it. Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum website has the story of that shipwreck. Thanks for another great video! Enjoyed learning about the Cloyster! 🌊 🐚 ⛵

So cool! Can’t believe there were THAT many shells! Over the many years of vacationing in OCMD, we’ve only ever gone over to Assateague Island a few times in the evening, and although we’ve found some beautiful shells there, we’ve never found any Whelks! I’m so glad I found your channel. Despite vacationing there for 35 years and just recently bought a place …94th street directly on the bay(P.V.), through your videos, I’ve learned SO much about OCMD and surrounding areas! Thank you!! …Can’t wait to show my granddaughters this video. They will love watching you guys find all of those huge Whelks! Keep posting… we really enjoy your content!

Hi Jay. Watch all your videos. Fell in love with OCMD a few years back. This will be our 4th year in a row vacationing there. Do you have a recommendation for a boat tour of Assateague Island? Something at a modest price but worth it. Thanks!
@ReelJayB
7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching my videos, I really appreciate it! Assateague by boat is a bit tricky because it's so shallow behind the island. There are only 2 tours do this, I haven't done either. The Assateague Adventure is the well known tour I see going all the time, mrducks.com/assateagueadventure.html the price is cheaper but you are with a lot of others. The other is the OC Bay Hopper. I've been on the bay hopper boats (I did videos on them) so the boat is smaller. I'm betting it's more expensive but you may be able to do more with them because it's a smaller boat. book.ocbayhopper.com/experience/Details/7?experience=Assateague%20Island%20Boat%20Tour Anyway, hope this helps!

Thanks Jay. I know you use the Bay Hopper. I’ll check them out and see. My mother in law would never be able to walk the island and I figure the boat would be more enjoyable than driving.

Thanks for the video. My wife will love to do that this winter. Why do they show up on the beach now? What air pressure do you go down too? HALF? You sure do a great variety of videos.Love the food reviews also. We just bought a place in O.C. and love to learn the are thru you. I fish from the beach and look forward to doing that also. Thanks again.

Thanks for watching! I'm not exactly sure why they wash up, I know they like the colder water, so maybe that's why? I air the tires down between 20 and 22 psi. Some recommend even lower, around 15, but between 20 and 22 works good for me. Congrats on your new place, I'm sure we'll run into eachother fishing on the beach!

Note to others! 145 means 145! This past summer some jacka$$ tried to cheat the gate and it came down on them midway through. Bending the gate and breaking the one bolt off. If I had to guess I would say that is why the new sign has been added. Love that we get to drive out onto the beach and what a great place Assateague is!!
@ReelJayB

Unreal someone would try it. Before the double gate they would cheat and tailgate each other in. We even had a lady try to cut us off after we were waiting in line to get in. I like where the NPS moved the new gate and the double gate system is even better!
