One of my favorite ever, still gets my blood racing to this day. Nicely demonstrated, as always.

I agree about the song... Some really nice song writing, yet again, from the very young Paul Weller. Great riff to have discovered for him; I'm sure he was really happy with it, and felt vindicated for many years of hard work with his first #1.

Thank you so much ,it was my request ,been trying to nail it for years but was just that little bit off ,even some lessons online sound wrong . But straight away i can see a few points where i was going wrong ,strum pattern i was up down up down for the intro where as its all downstrokes ,keeping the 1 finger on all the time ,and other little nuances. Really well explained and exactly what i was after ,it's too late to grab my guitar tonight as it's 23.45 here in the U.K, but first thing tommorow my telecaster and Peavey backstage 30 will be in action . Thank you, top man !

Certainly... I actually had to go back and re-learn this riff, as the way I played it years ago was from the D position, which is musically correct, but really hard to pull off with your fingers; it seemed impossible that that was how Weller played it, especially live. The open strings below with only two fretted strings sounds correct and is very playable. Thanks for your request, as it helped me get this right. It's now a lot more fun to play. ;-)

Thanks, Dave... Yes, this one came from a NYC pawn shop--sans case, just in a box with a bunch of peanuts/fill. Smelled of lots of cigarettes and coffee. Beat to hell, but plays really well.

@@modfather1965 I remember that one, you've done a (black) job on it.

Hey did you mod your 330 with the black pickguard and name plate? Looks so good

Hi t d... The pickguard came from Pickguardian, and the TRC came off of Eba (someone selling decent knock-off's). Sadly, I sold a real black one a few years before I acquired this guitar. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Stephen... Yeah, I haven't gotten around to that one yet, surprisingly. I appreciate your suggestion, and I'll get to that one right after I get the two non-Jam songs I'm working on now finished (Weller--Remember How We Started; Aztec Camera--Lost outside the tunnel). Thanks again for your support and your thoughtful input. ;-)
