I loved these shows ! They did hit on subjects that needed to be told I loved the way they did them ! I learned a lot . I didn’t know how bad prejudices were because I was raised that color and other thing were not important at all . I was raised in Alaska and there were all colors of people the were our neighbors and friends . I had a hard time understanding Archie Bunker until I was grown up. A move to California was a totally shocker for sure . I thought the airplane had over heated but it was still hot when we got to the parking lot of the air port 😮 lol I am living my best life back up here in Alaska. After 35 years in California and traveling most of the USA. Lilinna I will all way watch reruns of these shows!

I watch The Jeffersons for a long time they were very entertaining. Those were the days when the family shows brought the family together. You could actually feel like you were one of the family . And a lot of times they had real family situations where you might see in your own family but they always solve them they always got through it. Times they were so hilarious they were unbelievable. Those were the days.

Mother Jefferson was the best. This sitcom ranks high on my all time favorites, along with the Honeymooners. It's hard to pick a favorite. There's so many. The ' We shall overcome ' episode is a notable one . It would be nice if you could put on the kitchen video scene, where Mother Jefferson kept hitting Louise with the shade. The dialog was hilarious. I also like the 2 part episode where everybody thought Louise was kidnapped. There was hilarious exchange between Mother Jefferson and Louise in that.

The cast of the Jeffersons were a close-knit, loving family. I think they huddled in prayer before beginning work on their script. They ate good food on the set, too. Fresh squeezed orange juice was featured on the show.

Here’s a fun fact…. Besides the antics of the Jeffersons… there was also Good Times… and, the precursor, Maude… Well on the Carol Burnett show, they did a sketch that was a send up of the Norman Lear classic, Maude. Carol played the part of “Broad” a take off on Bea Author’s Maude. Well guess who played the maid, or as she called herself, a “domestic engineer” ? Isabelle Sanford! I think she was in that sketch before she played Mrs J, but that’s gotta be one heck of a coincidence!

This show was way ahead of its time. So many of the issues of the show then are going on now in 2024. It’s insane how backwards we’ve become. The show could never even come close to being done today. Wouldn’t have the same feel or impact as it did then. It’s also a shame that Sherman had to remain a closeted gay man back then since it wasn’t accepted then.

After season 6 this sitcom no longer had that SPARK 🔥 to it as Sherman Hensley riffed the idea of racial slurs which MIND YOU actually made the show a huge success by far!!! He was sooo funny! My favorite character (s) ARE, Sherman Hemsley, Isabel Sanford and Marla Gibbs ! Cannot seem to choose which one I liked the best!
