Thank you for the great review! I just purchased this item today and I'm planning on using it specifically to fly helicopters in DCS and MSFS 2020. I was wondering if it would feel good or not using the vibration for the engine/rotor speed and also how long the motors on the pad might last if whenever you fly its constantly vibrating because of the engine/rotor?
@Yoda_NZ
3 жыл бұрын
That would be possible but I think you would have to tune it right. From what I have experienced the motors will last a long time. It’s actually great with helicopters especially when you enter VRS

It comes as part of the Obutto Revolution seat. There is a better look at it in my Simpit video. I can't do a centre stick has I also do sim racing. Having the stick fold out of the way has been really good. It is just tighten with a screw to lock it into place.

Nice helpful overview @Yoda NZ: I noticed you purchased the Olive Green JetPad FlightSim Edition with the cutout over the Basic Edition. - Any regrets on colour or the cut-out? - How is the SimShaker holding up after almost a year? Cheers -Thanks!

It is going great guns. Was using it last night. I do notice it when flying and I’m not using it. Absolutely still recommend and one of my better investments. Olive green for me was a natural ‘military’ to choice . The cut out fits into my future plans around building a cockpit project. Plus the cat has stop scratching it but the dog still jumps on.

Does the JETPAD FSE work with sim racing as well? And have you tried comparing to Buttkicker? Btw when you are in the air what vibrations do they output? I would understand vibrating when on ground because of ground surface texture buy aircraft are gliding through air..
@Yoda_NZ
3 жыл бұрын
Yes it can run with sim racing titles. Check Andre's website for what games it can run on. I used to have a buttkicker but this is way better. There is a lot more control in what you feel. In the video for DCS there are all those options and tuning ability, as it runs of the game telemetry. This really shines when the plane is in the air. I have it set to shake when I am pulling G's, dropping the landing gear, firing gun. But also stall and buffet. VRS for helicopters. I think this would be the next best thing to a motion platform.
@daemon3spade
3 жыл бұрын
@@Yoda_NZ really? better than buttkicker? I was reluctant of buttkicker coz it looks like it give more vibration and is connected to the chair shaft which will then transfer more vibrations to the ground and toward downstairs..
@Yoda_NZ
3 жыл бұрын
@@daemon3spade Absolutely. As you say the BK is connected to your chair via one point and while it vibrates it is all coming from that one area. The jet seat you sit on has 8 transduces so depending on what is happening in the game only certain transducers will vibrate. For instance under positive G the 4 under your legs work (being pushed into the seat) under negative G it is the 4 behind your back (being pushed out of your seat). I understand for sim racing if you hit a rumble strip on the left only those transducers on the left would work and vice versa. You could do this with BK but you would need at least 4 and the software to run them (you should get that anyway rather than rely on sound). You could of course run both and get the best of both worlds. If you do go with the BK make sure you get the software that controls it from telemetry rather than the sound. There is nothing more disturbing than having your seat rumble when someone with the deep voice talks over discord.
