With these saws that have different cylinder bore same chassis, Seems the 48mm end up running just as good if not better. Is this only after they've been modified, when do you choose bigger, is bigger better in any way, is bigger better if running a longer bar? Seems w/ the big bore, the chamber has 2 much volume once you get above a certain mm. Appears big bore isn't always better. Whether it's w/ STIHL 038,044,046,066,Husq266,272...., A simplified or complex explanation or a link 2 an explanation would be greatly appreciated. I understand the limitations of the races some and why you have 2 choose a certain mm, but just in general use 4 a normal person w/ limited modification capabilities.

IMO that's the best way to find and get the results you want. That's why I love the AM part and saw market!!!
