Another way to heat a heap of tanks is to connect all the tanks to a common sump with a big heater. Here in Australia, heating a room to heat all the tanks is not needed in some times of the year as our temperatures get so high, but sometimes the temps will drop significantly at night, just to rise again the next day. So when the temps are keeping the water warm the heater thermostat keep them off.
This is seriously one of the best fish room tours I've ever seen. Eric seems like such an awesome guy, too.

I got them in a 20 gallon and they’re already totally different characters..the albinos are crazy and the blacks and calm and reserved. I really enjoy their little wiggly ways. Plecos are also my favourite and I have some bristlenose, super reds starlights and blue eyed lemons one day I’d love some zebras. Thanks for showing us your beautiful creatures.

I use Sydney tap water of 7.6 with fine hard akadama substrate that buffers to 6 and all I have to do is add any kind of cory and they will breed in that. They are also highly planted tanks with a constant 0 nitrates. I walked up to my sterbai tank today and watched them for about 10 minutes and they spawned 5 times. Also cleaned one of their canisters and pull out about 100 fry. Put filter guards on the intakes now. Need to pull out the second canister and look in there too. I bet there is another 100 fry in that one too. I started with 4 fish!!!

My Cory's were insane breeders. My females were big and chunky and would lay so many eggs. Left to their own devices, they would be eaten (they oh so loved to spread them across the tank sides/front. I had never intended to breed them, just a hobbyist, but after a couple of times of the eggs being demolished, I decided to gently remove them and put them separately and I ended up with about 80% survival rate. It was so amazing to have a couple of generations living happily in the tank together. I adore Cory's, because mine were the most playful goofs in the tank. They were playful and active, which I didnt expect. Mine were bronze Cory's. Could never mistake which were the females, they were chonks! lol I've heard a few people calling Cory's dull and boring, especially the bronze type. I disagree. The spawning behaviour was wild to see. I still have footage of them going crazy with their breeding. It was insane seeing them actually laying the eggs right before my eyes. So fascinating.

Best i have found and only thing i do for brush/ black hair algae is simply do big water changes and run no light for two days then minimum light till cleared up , it makes a mess of the tank due to the algae sheds off any surface it was growing so now floting in the tank, I usually put a small hang on filter on the front of the tank and let it run , and pull the filter once a day and rinse
@andrewbowlgarte4738
6 жыл бұрын
Also for black hair algae ,for plants and some non absorbent thing i use small solution of bleach in warm water let it soak till you see it bleaching , then soak in fresh water double rinse, then lightly air dry, back in tank and all gone in 48 hrs..

Cory, as I was watching this awesome vid. you mentioned that you have a thing with live-bearers. I have a breeding group of Tequila Goodeids that I've been breeding for the past year. They are a lot slower to reproduce unlike guppies, swords and platys but they are pretty cool fish! the male has an orange band on its caudal fin and it turns from regular gray to purplish/black color when he's trying to mate. :D

This fishkeeper(breeder) knows exactly what he is talking about! Great video! *Exotic Fancy Plecos generally sell very well.* If you want to sell a lot of them? You have to avoid giving them hiding places. Exposure is the key to selling them to the average walkin customer. If they're kept with a lot of other compatible fish, stress is usually not a problem. Before and after the purchase I offer the customer advice on maintaining and succeeding with their chosen livestock acquisition. *hafnia alvei bacteria* Are not normally pathogenic, but it may cause disease in immunocompromised patients. Very little information is known about this gram negative anaerobic bacteria, but generally speaking anaerobic bacteria are bacteria that can't use oxygen in their metabolism, but are poisoned and quickly killed by the molecule. *Black Beard Algae* Best ways to get rid of it are Siamese Algae Eaters, Black Mollies, and Swordtails. The trick is you've got to keep them hungry. If you feed them they won't eat it. You can nuke it with hydrogen peroxide as well. Take the objects covered in the algae and soak in a solution of diluted, but relatively strong hydrogen peroxide solution for 20 minutes then rinse. Make sure all the nets and aqua decor are routinely kept disinfected as the spores are easily spread from tank to tank this way.

I know this is an old video, but HP is under used. Shelters are now using it to clean instead of bleach and other harsh chemicals which can cause burning and irritate the URI in cats. It's doing a better job AND Its also easier on the staff! The product comes in many forms, and now tattoo shops and hospitals are catching on. Spraying hydrogen perox. on the black beard algae work like a charm in my experience. II personally wouldn't spray all the wood and rocks at once, rather stagger the applications every couple of days. Like Cory mentioned I was a bit concerned with blasting all of the beneficial bacteria at once.
