The KLF was formed around the idea of copyright infringement, kind of inventing the mash up/uncredited sample genre. They agreed to destroy all copies of their first album because of copyright issues. So you're good. Lol. All of their back catalog was deleted and removed for over a decade- that's why you haven't heard of them. They were massive in England

I remember when they left the music business. It was the UKs equivalent of the Grammys. They played a thrash metal/death metal version of 3am, then machine gunned the audience (OK, Blanks) and the announcer in the style of the outro in this version announced "The KLF have left the music business".

Theese guys came out when i was a young teenager. I was mindblown, being a rocker/metal head at heart,i thought this band was the coolest band i have ever seen, they even skyrocketed above my favourite rock bands. I started dreaming of seeing them live, they represented everything i could possibly dream of in music. I was soo gutted when i found out they just sold me an illusion, most of the artists on that stage was hired in for the music videos, and live performances on tv and such. Only 2 primary members in The KLF, but they still till this very day has me dreaming of seeing such a massive band as they portraied in theyr videos. Last Train To Trancentral,What Time Is Love & Justified And Ancient are just a few of the other songs by them i love. Still have the CDs in good condition. Theyr album The White Room is packed with solid hits.

It's so awesome their catalogue is back. I remember being shocked to learn they quit music and deleted their entire catalogue considering they were HUGE and nobody sounded anything like them. I remember dancing to this at desert raves when I was growing up in the 90's. It was just a mass of bodies bumping to this and some of the early house that came out of Detroit and Rotterdam. KLF were what made me gravitate toward techno and house back when all my friends were getting into grunge. Even though I knew their music was taking the piss out of the music industry, it still was fire and its energy was infectious.

I remember when this came out. They weren’t around that long but where absolutely massive for one year 1991 before they disappeared. Their albums are amazing; but they also did some amazing ambient work on the Chillout Album. Jimmy Cauty was also close with Dr Alex Paterson who was the Orb, the proto ambient electronic act who would be influential in ambient house which would be a big part of the sound of trance aka German techno.

It might be meant as a joke, but there’s a lot of commentary about the business at the time. Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond, the founders of The KLF, were satirists and performance artists as well as musicians. February 1990, they left behind their trademark jagged rave stabs and released Chill Out: an unbroken 44-minute collage of synthesizer, steel guitar, railway noises, bleating sheep, found sounds, and samples-some half-buried, some plain as day-of Fleetwood Mac, jazz clarinetist Acker Bilk, and even James Tenney’s old muse, Elvis Presley. There’s even a sample of Van Halen’s Eruption solo there!

This band, much to their horror, won Britain’s Best of Pops. They were asked to perform at the ceremony. They asked if they could slaughter a sheep on the stage at the performance because this band comes from a town in the United Kingdom that has been slaughtering sheep since time untold. Of course, they were told NO. For their performance on Best of Pops, the two main members of the band ( Bill Drummond AKA King Boy D and Jimmy Cauty AKA Rockman Rock) ) played a heavy metal song instead of their award winning song. After the performance, members of the band rushed out onto the stage carrying machine guns and fired blanks over the audience, screaming “This is radio free Europe, the KLF has left the music industry” and rushed off stage. They turned their profits from the song into cash and threw a big outdoor concert for free with free ice cream for everybody. They burned their remaining cash (1 million pounds, 2 million US dollars), dissolved the band and erased their music catalog.

It seems like you're the only reactor that is willing to listen to certain music without checking beforehand to make sure a hundred other reactors have already reacted to it. i.e. You have the most reactions to 'unique songs' on KZitem. Every other reactor behaves like sheep. One reactor does a particular track and then a thousand others will copy them and react to that same song within days of one another. I know the copyright system is harsh, but is it really that bad that people will only do something because others have already?
