@@ElonaldTrusk So simple but truly a perfect cutting tool. Thumb ramp is flat, the design is at its best scale between the lil native and shaman, the finger choil makes the most sense with a back lock, spyderco's back lock is almost the best on the market, I could go on.

@@deadvikingtrolls I have the lil native compression in smooth g10/Cruwear, and I totally agree on the 5's bridging the gap. I've never even held a shaman, but comparing it's size to other larger folders I own gives me a good enough idea.

@@ElonaldTrusk Shaman is very similar, just bigger and more round. Thicker blade too but I have an ad20 for that. Native 5 lets me cut circles in anything. Good grab on the knifecenter exclusive, smooth black g10 and cruwear are special.

I don't hear anything out of the ordinary, all manix 2 versions make a clicking when the lock ball engages and disengages on and off the blade, not sure if that's what you are hearing or not though, would have to hear it and i could not hear anything in the video

I got one in Rex 45. Same clicking noise. Doesn’t annoy me too bad. I plan of changing the ball and cage. Hopefully it fixes the problem. I put OG aluminum scales on it. The pocket clip screw had a ridiculous amount of loctite on it. I ended up destroying the LW scales to put vise grips on it. Got it out. Why they would do that on a screw they know has a high probability of being removed is beyond me.

They don't want you to take it apart. Honestly I don't mind though, I hate when a screw backs out and gets lost. The first thing I do with every knife I have with screws is taken each screw out one at a time and put GREEN Loc-Tite on them.

I have a Manix 2 Lightweight I bought maybe a month ago. Mine is the CTS BD1N version. Never had any clicks or crunchy noises from disengaging the lock. I sincerely hope that lady you spoke too is wrong, because I'd have to agree that would turn me off from buying a Manix 2 again. If I had to guess, it sounds like lock stick (somehow). But why a ball bearing would have lock stick I have no idea. Maybe the cage was installed upside down?

Regarding those tight screws: I don't know if Spyderco still uses it but they used to use the red thread locker which is very hard to break unless you heat it up with something like a hair dryer. If you have difficulty unscrewing your new Manix try heating the screws. Hope this helps.

@SlamJamBlades It has nothing to do with lock stick. If you remember what I said in this video, Spyderco told me this was going to be an ongoing thing going forward with how they were manufactured.
