Dont worry about which designers you knit. Everyone shud be able to knit the patterns they desire regardless of whoever wrote the pattern ❤ To be honest, Petite Knit, to me, has timeless patterns that is easily followed and makes for a relaxing knitting experience which is why her patterns keeps making it back on my needles too.

I have such beef with the current toxicity around knitting petite knit patterns! No need to explain yourself, but I totally understand why :) She writes beautiful classic patterns, with clear and understandable instructions, and they usually fit very well! And we’re all allowed to knit whatever the hell we want so those people can deal with it!🩷

My zipper sweater was the 3rd ever garment I knitted for myself so I was a beginner when I did it. The zip did take me a couple of hours Tbf but take your time and nothing to be worried about. For a good KZitem tutorial creabea does one on how to sew the zip for her own pattern but the way it’s knitted and sewn in is the same instructions as the petite knit pattern if you want some more visual instructions. Worked really well for me as a beginner 😊 Also just bought the blanket pattern super excited to start it

Oh my goodness... I'm so over all of these knitters demonizing anyone who uses Petite Knit patters. As if she's the Walmart of the knitting world... She's a fellow knitter who makes wonderful patterns that suit a lot of our styles and WORK. I've trying many many patterns by new designers and it's always a gamble. Sometimes what they've written is wonderful and easy to follow. Other times it's too wordy, not wordy enough or has a bunch of mistakes. At least with PK you know exactly what you're signing up for and you know you can trust her. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I'm glad to see you back on KZitem. :) Oh and I started watching two Pearls in a Pod a few months ago and I absolutely LOVE them. It's 2 young Australian doctors. They're great. :)

Petite Knit isn’t really my style (plain old stockinette makes me bored and sleepy), so I tend to gloss over those who only knit her patterns, but I do admit that I have used her patterns as a base for my own jumping off and adding texture or color work. They are well written without being too overwritten. I don’t really understand the backlash we’re seeing. Like everything else online, if you don’t like it, move on quietly and do your own thing while leaving others to do theirs. There shouldn’t be a compulsion to announce your departure or distaste. No one is being hurt, so be kind or be quiet. 😁

I haven't done an episode in a month or so, but I plan to do one next week, and it is going to be heavy on the mental health and fiber arts content because July has been a doozy of a month.
