You forgot to mention that Magic had Bob McAdoo also, he was top 50 also. Norm Nixon was an allstar. Byron Scott, Michael Cooper... To me, he was LeBron before LeBron, he won because his conference sucked, and he has by far the strongest roster for almost his entire career. But that's another subject. They penalize Kobe for Shaq, but they put Magic high even though he played on much more stacked roster than Kobe ever had.

The media never liked Kobe. There’s a reason why he only received 1 league MVP award even though he was the hands down best player in the NBA from 2001-2010. During that run, Kobe averaged nearly 29 ppg was first team all NBA and first team all defense team. I failed to mention he won 5 titles in 7 trips to the finals and if Boston doesn’t have a mega team of Pierce, Garnet, Allen and Rondo he does a second three peat.

"There’s a reason why he only received 1 league MVP award even though he was the hands down best player in the NBA from 2001-2010." The MVP award isn't based on a stretch of 10 years. LeBron was statistically the best player from around 2005-06 season onward. Kobe wasn't the statistically best player probably for any season between '01 and '05. "Kobe averaged nearly 29 ppg was first team all NBA and first team all defense team" He shot with notoriously bad accuracy. Kevin Durant GameScore of 26.9 in 17/18 Oh and you can look this up too: Kevin Durant vs Kobe in the Playoffs: 25.8 ppg .428 fg% .328 3pt% Kevin Durant vs LeBalco in the playoffs: 28.5 ppg .482 fg% .410 3pt% Ouch Kobe when DIRECTLY guarded by LeBalco, shoots 57%; LeBalco when guarded DIRECTLY by Kobe, shoots 26%. Barkley has the 2nd highest GMSC ever in the Finals. He's top 10 ever (LeStan logic). According to Hollinger himself, a "Good" GameScore is 23 or more. The HIGHEST GameScore ever scored against Kobe in a playoff series was 22.8 (Chris Paul in 2011). Kobe held KD to a GameScore of 21.1 in 2012, far less than LeBalco. Kobe's CLEARLY a better defender (12 time all NBA defense vs 6) and overall player than LeBalco but carry on venting BS Report. All-NBA Defense Teams were all voted on by coaches back then before 2013-2014. Coaches seem to think Kobe's a much better defender than LeBalco. LeMedia is bought and paid for. Peace.

When Shaq said him and Kobe was "Superman and Batman" that was all I needed to hear. That's the part I always ask as well Skap, if Shaq was so "dominant" why didn't he win anything without Kobe starting? Of course he would avg 500 and 200 rebs outside of Tim Duncan, who was guarding Shaq throughout those runs? But who was on Kobe? Reggie, J Kidd, AI, Manu/Tony Parker, etc. What's crazier, Kobe had even more competition through his prime! KD, Russ, Harden, Dame, Klay, Steph, B Roy, and all of those guys were either stars or on the cusp of stardom. If you add other superstars, it's not even close! That's why I stopped debating after a while, Kobe's career was really a "you had to be there to see it" moment. Thanks for all you do Skap. Hard to believe it's been 4 years 😢

Probably the most logical comment out here. I don't like LeBron, but he's #2 after MJ. As for Kobe, he is by definition, overrated. He's still within a Top 10. What makes him really hard to place him is that we have Kareem, Magic, Shaq and Bird in the top 10; and. Kobe, aside from Kareem, is the only one to win it all twice without any other superstar (Twice). Kareem had Magic, Bird had a lot of HoF's, Shaq won one but he was not the best player on Miami. He also won with Kobe 3 times. His achievements are also identical to Tim Duncan. Having said that he's somewhere between 4-10. With MJ, LBJ and Kareem on the top 3.

I mean, it's hard to argue against Bill Russell as the greatest playoff performer of NBA history. 13 seasons in the league, 13 playoffs, 12 finals and 11 rings. His team, while always heavily featuring future hall-of-famers, kept changing players, while Russell kept the team winning rings. I get why people might think Jordan, but his 15 seasons in the league, 13 playoffs, 6 finals and 6 rings mean that while he got to the playoffs as many times as Russell, he didn't get there as often, and in the playoffs, he literally got to the finals half as often as Russell. Sure, "6 for 6" might sound more impressive than "11 for 12", since Russell DID lose one final (his second year in the league - Jordan didn't even GET to a final before his seventh year) but while Jordan had "two three-peats", Russell had two four-peats - back to back. That is REAL playoff dominance.

I had some issues with some of your videos recently, but this is gold. I just recently watched the 2008 WCF Game 1, where Kobe was a facilitator in the first half - scoring only 2 points - and the scored 25 points in the second half (over half of his team's points) - and had three unbelievable shot-fake-passes to Gasol that were some of the best passes I have ever seen in my life (really putting his point total in that second half at more like 31+ points -- well over half of his teams points). It's one of best showings I have seen. His team played like total crap. It showed that the Lakers were not a great team without Kobe. They were so bad that game. But Kobe just... handled things. Anybody who doubts Kobe needs to watch that game. I did, and it changed me. Pure art. He's just too good.
