Sam .B I think, somehow though, the fact that it isn't being noticed that much in the mainstream press does have a bit of a bright side to it. Well, at least, for one, we don't get hipsters flocking in every La's videos or discussion pages. That's already happened to Neutral Milk Hotel and it's making the fandom of that band a tad annoying. Nonetheless, I won't even care at the end of the day if hipsters get a hold of The La's, as long as many people would get to hear this amazing band. The La's is one of those exceptional bands that are simply too good for personal or esoteric pleasure. You get so much bang out of their music that your first impulse would be to scream inside of you "people ought to fucking hear this stuff!" everytime you play a La's song.
@deckofcards87
8 жыл бұрын
Ok you like them little more then I do haha. Personally I place The Stone Roses above them, only simply because they had more impressive output (mostly the b sides). If Lee Maver's hadn't gone all hermit -The La's may have written more classics, and I'd have considered them fair competition for 'best band the generation' but we'll never know. On the strength of this one and Mavers' obsessive perfectionism, it's likely they may of topped it. It's insane the band didn't like this album... Thought it was "over- produced." Agreed that obscurity sure is a blessing in making (some) things hipster-proof too.

The fuckung La's, man!!!! The whole album brings back so many memories! Being twenty, London had never been more beautiful, so much good music, the world had not turned into the merciless hellhole it is today, it was just a great time to be around in the prime of one"s life. I really pity today's youngsters. Growing up in the squarest era known to humanity, with the shittiest music ever to boot, can't be that much fun.....
