Thank you SO MUCH for posting such an awesome and USEFUL tutorial on a fantastic piece of music. I have loved Genesis and Tony Banks for over 25 years and even though I play some music, I never really dug into the heavy stuff. Thanks to KZitem, I am picking up parts and even whole Genesis songs almost daily! Wish I had this when I was younger. Thanks to you, I can pretty much play the Lamb Intro, something I doubt I would ever thought I'd have worked out in my lifetime. Many, many thanks!

You are a Brave Man, sir! Knowing how "picker of nits" might want to be hateful underachievers and throw you under a bus for your sharing. It is an excellent effort. I learned a good deal from it. It may not be perfect, but that is the best detailed tutorial I've seen. I think through our collective efforts we may gain the perfect understanding of what is very complex piece of genius. Well done sir. Thank for sharing your efforts. Take the rest of the day off!

Great tutorial! I hope the following helps in its authenticity because I've tried this and it seems to work (sorry in advance about the jargon!). I think as far as the "up and down" bit goes, what Tony Banks actually does is simply skip an octave. Going 'up', he plays both E minor inversions (8 over 4) then jumps right up to repeating the exact starting sequence (but VERY high up the keys) for 2 beats and then begins the "down" journey right down to more familiar ground: an octave below the original start sequence. People just don't recognise the jump because the awareness of a change in pitch up there (a whole octave) is so minimal. Try it! It sounds great! BTW I want to thank you for this and hope this helps. Regards. Richard.

after the Bb chord, when he says he is not shure about what it is, i kinda figured it out it is an E6: B, C#, E, G#, B your left hand plays the C# and the right hand the E major chord

I found one thing which to my ears sound great. I play: Right hand - The arpegiated 2 note chord thing, and i play an Amaj7 chord starting from the top (as all the other chords of the intro) Left hand - I play the notes B and F#, but not together, one at a time, starting with B.

However, there is a small in the "new part", after repeating the E major/E minor sequence in the lower octave. The right does not stay on E major after that but switches to C#m7 with the left hand playing F# and A#.
