Great, I was part of the iconic line up in front of the main factory entrance prior to our run to Anglesey for the 35th anniversary in 1983. I still have SXF 111 and it was wonderful for that photo to be included in that wonderful film. Thank you.

Interesting film of THE incomparable series 1. I ran a series one 80" every day for many years and just loved it, It did everything I ever asked of it! and then some. In mid 1955 the 'Turner Manufacturing Company of Wolverhampton', fitted a 107" series 1 with one of their own very innovative 60 bhp 3 cylinder 2 stroke supercharged diesel engines "Operation Enterprise" and ran it over land to Nairobi. 10,000 miles with no major problems! for the time,THE best engine that Landrover Never used!

"And a class leading towing weight of 900Kg" Promptly shows it towing a hell of a lot more than 900Kg. I mean a Bus and then a four engine bomber? Fuck Yeah Land Rover!

when I was in Turkey, 3 New Zealand guys were driving from the UK to NZ...I had my first ride in one. Apparently one of the 3 vehicles had trouble and so they waited for a part. I ought to have asked their route but alas, I did not.

Hello, I would be interested in licensing some of this footage for use in a short film, are you able to help with that? Thanks

I can't but I think the British Motor Museum can. I believe Land Rover handed over all their archive footage to them some years ago. Try: enquiries@britishmotormuseum.co.uk

no mention of the jeep as the inspiration for the land rover. no mention that the first land rover was built on a jeep chassis. also pretending to create 4wd as if it were their own design. and pretending to be the first off road vehicle to go across continents. jeep was first in all of these during and after the war. land rover was a copy. but imitation is the greatest form of flattery

Are there as many proper jeeps 'on the road' today as there are proper Land Rovers ? What attachments did the jeep offer ? The jeep was a jeep, the Land Rover was a specialist.
