Claire Kelly joined us for our 9 AM and 10 AM services at Algoma Blvd., United Methodist Church on July 21, 2024, when Claire played special music for both services. After a potluck lunch, she joined us for the “third Sunday of every month”, •12:34 PM concert series• as our guest artist in July.
During the week prior…
I wanted to listen to more of her music so throughout the week as I was doing things, I listened especially to her song “Tapestry“ & other songs, happily and especially noticing she had many songs that featured cello.
So ~ just before the concert ~ when she asked me to join in on cello on a song during the 12:34 concert ~ Claire said it was Celtic and mostly C-G-C in the chord changes… //
I said, “…sure, I’ll join in ~ in playing.”
(… then I got out KZitem and listened to 2/3rds of the song again on my earbuds, since I had heard it a couple days ago ~ to just get the changes into my ear and mind a bit…~ not following the changes perfectly, however ~without a chord chart, and just diving in for fun)…;
•what a gorgeous, joyful time to share music with such a beautiful songwriter performing artist ♥️🎶
Claire, such an attentive, openly beautiful person and Musician as we shared music together in the morning~In the 9 AM praise band service. I played offering on cello ~ “let it be” with Travis Worth on piano-; (Travis, our praise band leader, singing, and on guitar as well that day)… we had a great praise band (vocals, guitar, bass, drums) where I got to harmonize in simultaneously singing and playing cello for that service.
So supportiive of music friends and church family, Claire‘s presence at both services, her sharing of herself and Music was profound and lovely.
Claire Kelly is such a giving in peaceful joyous presence musician ~ sharing herself and her songs with gentle life stories, during our church service and concert time… on a beautiful mid-July summer day.
…with great gratitude, getting to share here.
