Today is the last day of route 211 running to Waterloo. Tomorrow, the route will no longer serve Victoria Coach Station, Victoria Station, Westminster, and Waterloo Station. Instead, the route will be diverted at Sloane Square Station. Route 211's new terminus will be Battersea Power Station.
Route 211 will also pass to Transport UK London Bus. The route will return to Battersea (QB) garage, And will use existing New Routemasters. The peak vehicle requirement of route 211 will also decrease to 14 from 16.
This change was originally meant to happen on the 29th of April 2023, As part of the Central London Bus Changes. However, the change was postponed. Route 77 will replace route 211 at Waterloo. Route 77 will now terminate at Waterloo, Upper Taxi Road.
The New Routemasters currently on route 211 will transfer to Hounslow (AV) garage, Where they will be used on route H98, Replacing Enviro 400s. Route 211 is currently run by RATP Dev Transit. The route runs from Stamford Brook (V) garage.
Route 211 currently runs from Hammersmith, Upper Bus Station, To Waterloo Station, Upper Taxi Road. Via Hammersmith Broadway, Charing Cross Hospital, Fulham Cross, Fulham Town Hall, Fulham Broadway Station, Chelsea Football Club, Fulham Road, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Royal Marsden Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital, Chelsea Old Town Hall, Sloane Square Station, Victoria Coach Station, Victoria Bus & Rail Station, St James's Park Station, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Station, and County Hall.
Route 211 runs around every 8 to 15 minutes. The route is currently 7 miles (11 km) long, And a full journey takes around 35-71 minutes. Route 211 commenced operation on the 17th of July 1993.
Route 465 will also pass from RATP to TUK tomorrow. The route will use existing Enviro 200 MMCs.
