My influencer friends have been joining the pass the hat movement where they’ve been connected to families that have fundraisers set up. I will donate the funds I make from this video directly to the families that haven’t reached their goal yet. Once one has reached their goal, I will donate to another. As long as this video keeps making money, I’ll keep donating. My updates will be on IG story and I will also put them on my stories on YT stories as I donate so people can see where the money is actually going.

@CindyChenDesigns
4 ай бұрын
@@MoonGirl-my4zn great question! KZitem does count returning viewers so if you watch it a few times every day (like 5 times in a row for example), what it does is it increases watch time/retention on my video, which pushes my video out to more people. Sharing and commenting also helps push the video to more people, allowing a snowball effect for it to potentially go viral. If people stop watching too soon or don’t interact with the video, the algorithm with determine it to be not good content and stop showing it to others.

"In my eyes, my parents are and always have been invincible" made me tear up. The little kid in us still sees our parents as powerful and amazing, but as adults we see their greying hair and failing joints and it's such a specific feeling of loss. My dad's turning 57 pretty soon. He's got long, thick hair that shines down to his shoulder blades. He's got funny stories and an engaging voice. I remember him being strong, carrying me around all day, playing. He got throat cancer a while back and although he beat it, he got weak, his hair was falling out, and his throat dried up too quickly to hold a very long conversation. Now his long term memories of before camcer comes and goes, he's taking more frequent and longer naps in the day, and he told me he's thinking about shaving his head because it's just too hard for him to take care of all the hair. There isn't a day that it's not on mind. It's one of my focal points in therapy, anxiety surrounding my dad. I love him. I've never had anywhere to put all of this. I'm so scared, I just want him to be how I remember, healthy and strong. I miss him

@@twilightskiesx - This Mother's Day was tough for me because everyone I've ever considered a mother figure is dead now. My actual mom died when I was 17. She had cancer and died on her birthday, January 20th 1999. Then around 2005, her mom died unexpectedly during, what we thought was minor, back surgery. Everything was quiet for years and my dad's mom passed after dealing with dementia in 2019. I grew up in her backyard and was INCREDIBLY close with her, my granddad and my aunt (my dad's sister who lived at home all her life). About 4 months after Grandma died, her brother, her sister and her daughter (my great uncle, great aunt and aunt) all got into a very bad wreck. My great aunt was killed instantly and my great uncle had to have two brain surgeries. My aunt ended up with a traumatic brain injury and was in the hospital and rehab for months. She finally got home and ended up having two strokes. She lived for 5 years more but was never the same. She needed 24/7 care. She couldn't be independent like she'd been prior. She'd often say "That man that hit us stole my life from me" and he honestly did. She had just retired and was finally done caring for her mother. She was ready to start enjoying her life but was a shell of herself those last years. I think about him from time to time and I wonder if he ever thinks about us. He got sentenced 8 years in prison but it hardly seemed fair. I don't think he should have gotten life because I don't think that would have accomplished anything either. Ironically, my great aunt's youngest son was killed in a car wreck in the late 80s. That guy that hit him (and his brother) didn't even lose his license, even though he was drunk and driving on the wrong side of the road with no headlights on during a storm at night. Anyway, the whole purpose was I definitely understand what you're going through. You have to love your people while they're here to do so. About 3 years ago my best friend of 23 years died from cancer. She was diagnosed on March 10th and died on the 20th. As a result of all of this, I worry about something happening to my dad. I've always been a "Daddy's Girl" and have, in my unbiased opinion, the best father in the world. 😁 I'm sorry you had to lose your mother. It sucks hard.

Fun fact: when lightning strikes the ocean, most of the electrical current stays around the surface of the water! Eventually it disperses further down, but that's the major reason people advise to get out of swimming pools or shallow water during thunderstorms. There's a line about this in John Mayer's "Stop This Train" that I've always found really... deeply personal and yet relatable. "Don't know how else to say it Don't wanna see my parents go One generation's length away From fighting life out on my own" And also "So scared of getting older I'm only good at being young"

Then stop watching and join in instead. The day my dad died, I could not have been prouder of him. It was the day that he should have begun his first ever computer course. It was word processing and he was taking it so that he could write up his dissertation. He was studying for a phD in ancient Greek and had always previously typed everything on his trusty portable typewriter. I've no idea who persuaded him to embrace new technology but I was so proud of him. I was not proud of the doctor who put him on a diet instead of sending him to cardiology to have a stent put into his blocked artery - the reason he never got to bed that night a week later. That man I despise. But my dad had always said that he wouldn't stop learning until he had Dr at the front of his name and he never did.

@@swempley you're lucky then, you two still have time to share and make wonderful new memories. My mother died years into her second battle with cancer in 2016. That does not stop me celebrating her life and all her achievements. For starters she actually beat the cancer first time around and cornered it into submission for more than 5 years second time. She was a generous friend, a dedicated teacher, an avid sportswoman despite crippling back injuries. And much much more.

Another Fun Fact If you see a bunch of ants just walking in a circle, it's called a Death March. Basically what's happened is the pheromone they use to communicate got lost so the ants just started following the nearest ant they could find and it continues until the rest of the ants in the area are all on an endless march until they eventually die. Maybe more of a morbid Fact but it's one of the only lesser known facts I have about ants😂

I lost my dad a week ago, he was only 55 :( on May 6th at 11 pm my half (paternal)sister who lived with him called and told me he passed in his sleep. He rested a lot because he had health issues but did stuff during the day and my sis noticed he hadnt done anything like not feeding the cat, and checked on him and thats how she found out. I woke my mom, we went over to say goodbye and comfort my sister. him being taken on a gurney was surreal. We cried but were just trying to take it all in. The house was so much more quiet. My half sister lives alone now when in 2019 my grandma who originally owned the house passed, then dad. I met my dad's side in 2018/2019 and got to meet grandma when we moved back to FL and dad was in the same city, got to see grandma and she made it to Christmas 2019 and passed after from aggressive metastatic cancer that started at the spleen, she had beat cancer before but lost the battle. She made it to her 70s thankfully. Dad had issues like diabetes, obesity and heart disease which is no joke. He had a history of drinking when he was younger(not an alcoholic but went to bars), just a lil too much when you get drunk weekly, and man it wrecks your body. He didn't smoke but alcohol is just as bad. Don't drink or rarely drink. My mom doesn't drink and is not a bar or party person and doesn't smoke and is so much healthier, she will more than likely live to 70s, definitely hoping! She's an amazing person, nothing against partying or occasional drinking, but she rarely ever had alcohol and is living proof of how much better you age. You wouldn't think she's 43! I'm so glad your parents have lived to your 20s, I wish my dad got to see me fully grow up because I'm 17. I have many goals and aspirations and he will be proud even if he can't see it in person. My mom was the main person in my life and raised me as a single mom so at least she is the one who raised me, gets to see me become an adult, even though I know dad loved us all and believed in me and would love to see that. I know they both would not want to leave me so soon and dad would've stayed if he could've. We did all kinds of stuff together and bonded so well, we had so many future plans and it is so heartbreaking. He'll always be in our memory❤

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My dad died in January of 2021 at the age of 47. It was a really hard hit and no one told me about it till the day after even though my stepmom lived in the same town as me. My material grandmother drove 2 hours to come tell me before I found out through Facebook or something. He passed from pneumonia and Covid complications. I still miss him to this day and cry. I can't tell you the pain ever stops (I'll come back and update this if it does) but it does get a little easier to deal with after some time. So right now take care of yourself and your needs and surround yourself with people you love and who love you. It really helps. ❤ When he first passed I tried to go it alone and pushed everyone away and that just dug me in deeper and I was hurting alone; it got so much easier after I started to let those who loved me in again 😅

My mom has become weaker as of late. She has been taking less of her clients (she cleans) and has instead been trying to set herself up for more of a managerial role. I see her climbing up and down ladders slower, she takes more time to clean windows, and she tries to not bend over as much or carry heavy objects on her own. Same thing happened to my grandpa he had surgery not that long ago but it still hurts me seeing him going through this because he is scared of surgeries.

This happened with my mother, she's been through any and everything you can imagine and always ended up stronger, but now she's not even 50 but she's always nauseous, her body always aches, she's got a million internal pain issues, had cancer, might have it again, she has constant migraines, runs herself into the dirt to make ends meet, and it's horrible. I imagine she felt the same when her mom started failing after her like, 5th stroke. Grandma lost use of one arm and her mouth was sorta paralyzed, so she couldn't talk well, and she became angry and argumentative and wouldn't accept any care even at the end. She used to be so strong and took no shit; she grew her nails into claws to handle people who tried to fuck with her. I don't want to see the same happen to my mom, even though i know it's probably coming; grandma was only 60 something when she died, Mom's about 48. I want to stay with her as long as i can and make her life better.

This hit me hard. As someone who has just started a new job I haven’t been able to see family out of state. I miss them deeply. I always love watching your videos and hearing the stories behind your makeup looks. Thank you for always supporting others.
