beautiful! My dad is 101 years old. He was a prisoner of war in Germany. After he was liberated he spent a year in the army hospital. He was sick and emaciated plus he'd lost the end of a couple of toes to frostbite. But he went on to live an amazing full life. I'm fortunate to have him and my mom still with me. They've been married 75 years.

Wonderful! My father made it to 100 years, 2 months and 13 days and died 2 years ago. He was proud of his service. It’s sad, but my mother died in 1993. The first thing he said was after she died was that he had hoped they would have 10 more years together, but he had 30 years without her. They had 45 years together. Your parents and you are blessed.

This a beautiful tribute and very well done. I know you folks are Americans and this was done for your Memorial Day, but let me share the story of a dear friend Douglas ( God rest his soul ) who joined the Royal Navy at the outbreak of war in 1939 at 17 years of age and served in every region where the Royal Navy was deployed including the D-Day landings and the inavasion of Sicily and ended to the war in HMS Howe in the Pacific. He got home in 1946 ...7 years after he left home. They were indeed "the greatest generation"

I wish that the current generation felt that pride for our country. Lord help us if WW111 breaks out. My Great Uncles and two Great Aunts fought in WW11. 3 of them were decorated heroes. Unfortunately all of them are gone now, but they will never be forgotten nor will all of those who have served before and since. They all deserve our deepest gratitude, no matter color or rank.

Lifein3D I just want to say you guys are "AWESOME"! What a touching, heartfelt tribute you have made. And thank you so very much for including my husbands father, William Harry Harrison Jr., in your beautiful tribute. Scott and I watched and were overcome with emotion. We both just sat on our sofa and wept. We have watched it numerous times and every time we are so moved. So grateful for all the men's and women's service and so grateful to be included in your beautiful offering of song. We love the thought that William Harry Harrison Jr. is now forever memorialized. And with that I would like to add some specific history about him: William Harry Harrison Jr. was a Staff Sargent 12th Marines. He served in the Marines from September of 1942 until January 1946. He was in Guadal Canal, Bougainville and Guam. He got malaria in Guam and was sent home to serve in Corpus Christi before he received his honorable discharge in January 1946. His unit went onto Iwo Jima so if it had not been for malaria, there is a good chance Scott wouldn't be here today. William Harry Harrison Jr. who went by, Harry, he was on the first day landings in Bougainville and Guam. He spent 56 days on the troop ship Crescent City waiting as a reserve troop for the invasion of Saipan. He received 3 Bronze Stars with the Asiatic Pacific Campaign metal. (His picture is the 2nd one shown in your video and William Harry Harrison Jr. is the 2nd man from the left 1st row)

When I was 12 years old, i played bugle in a drum corps. The local American Legion Post asked me to play taps at a soldier's funeral. Then they asked if I'd do another. And another, and another. Some of those being laid to rest were veterans of the Spanish American War. Some were veterans of WWI,. Others were veterans of WWII, and the Korean conflict (this was the mid to late 50's). To happen upon your tribute this evening has filled me with rememberance of things past. I cannot thank you enough for this amazing acknowledgement of the average person who, when called upon, answers. Billy Boyd's tribute to the Tokien's epic stories was the perfect choice for the music. Thank you, and thank you to the veterans, one and all...

That was so beautiful. So many of my family members have represented every branch of the service from my father in the army, my son in the Marines, and my grandson in the Navy. Many family members in other branches as well. Thanks to all who have served. Forever grateful for your sacrifice to our country.

From this veteran, the grandson of a WW2 veteran, and grand-nephew of another WW2veteran who lost his life and is buried in Arlington… Thank You for remembering them… and ALL those that served in one of the worlds deadliest wars! May we never see a conflict like that ever again!

My dad was a forward observer (US Army) in Anzio, Italy, in WWII. He drowned his memories in alcohol. My nightmare was Vietnam. Fortunately, I'm autistic and have learned to compartmentalize my scary thoughts . . . Still, I have battled for 50+ years to erase 6 years of horrific memories and too-realistic dreams. It never goes away completely. Here's a sharp button-line salute to all my brothers in arms. Thanks for the song, kids. 🦉

My dad was in WW2, also, and spent time in Anzio as well! He also battled alcohol for a big part of his life, after the war, and then died early, at age 54. My ex-husband was in Nam, in the Big Red One, and almost died there. The shrapnel in his chest (which tends to move around) almost killed him, some years later. He, too, has battled alcohol and other problems since returning home...the last I saw of him, he was still battling those things, and from what my oldest son has said, he still is. (sigh)

Thank you for your service. My brother was in VN 68/69 and my dad was both a Pearl Harbor survivor at Wheeler Field but then finished the war with 29 missions over Europe in a B17. My brother went the way of your dad with alcohol. May they all RIP now.

Even though this country seems to be in a mess, I am truly inspired that young people like the three of you are here to carry on. Your talents, attitude, and morality do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Health, success, and the blessing of God will be with you all.......I'm sure of it.

My grandfather was 98 when he passed away on Christmas Eve last year. He was a prisoner of war in Germany for about 6 months before the war came to an end. Thank you all for this, I gave him my last goodbye but I’ll always wish I had one more.

I am the first son of a WW2 Vet of the Italian Campaign. He had 2 more sons. I would not have come to be had he died in that war. Before my father died in 1999, he saw my two sons and held my baby daughter. For 7 yrs I heard his story sitting on our front porch. My mother's brother served in Pacific under MacArthur while my father's brother served as a Marine Corps Master Sargent in the Pacific. I did not hear their stories but I am sure theirs would have been as sad, bloody, terrifying and times laced with laughter. They and their mates were for us their sons and daughters, our Greatest Generation. As of 2024 may we all stand to be seen for future generations be as great in this hour of our country. Thank you for your singing that last good bye.
