after the dark scene in the hospital this is like the happy epilogue we did not deserve but Weerasethakul was kind enough to deliver anyway

I watched this film around 10 years ago, a bit biased on not understanding what the hype about Weerasethakul was about. I have to admit that I think about this aerobics scene every few days for 10 years already. The feeling of belonging, community, that everything "works" and life goes on, that this ending offers (with no dialogue, context or explicit meaning), is absolutely mesmerizing.

Yeah it's the worst part of the movie arguably because it's so on the nose

Don't worry, you are not alone. Nobody can't understand what this scene means. Just feel it !!

It's funny because Cemetery of Splendour also ended with an aerobic dance scene

this ending totally came out of nowhere for me. i don't think i understood the movie well, but various instances of this movie haunts my memory, and this scene in particular was very memorable.

it's about haunting and it's about memory and it's about uncertainty and it's about dialectic

@@InstazomeASMR I don't think it's about any of those things. Maybe it's about community, human strength and willpower, life going more or less the same in the concrete jungle that has sprung up around us. Who knows. it makes you think though

@@Henry-ns4jo i think it's about mundanity and transience and how things are very slightly amusing if you allow those feelings to pass through you
