The others are a prequel of that random kid that delivers the ammo and pilots the mech (He self-escapes the Matrix), and of one of the Ships.

For eveyone crying about "no protecting the pilots!" 1. Machines, sentinels especially tear right through it like wet tissue paper. Earlier mechs made for combat didn't do dick against the machines tearing them apart. 2. Still need thr swinging motion for the oilots to hse the arms to aim the guns. 3. These are essentially forklifts they added guns to because they dont have actual battle mechs. Humanity has been stuck underground hiding for more than a hundred years because of how effective the machines are at hunting us down. 4. Metal supply issues are a tbing when humanity is barely staying alive and trapped in a cage underground. Better to out it to something actually worthwhile like bulkets and guns rather than armor that is essentially useless against the enmy they are facing. The most terrifying part is the realization that machines played with them, you can see it in how they dispose of humans most specifically, apart from captain Mifune, they throw humans like dolls to their deaths or look with palpable contempt in close shots, no haste or urgency, they won and every squid knows it, even their formations are geared to mitigate human firepower since munitions at most can sever 1 tentacle with good shot, rotate limbs and most ppl wont get positive kill before going down
@danielhaire6677

Guys, keep in mind that in the Martix 2 Mifune says something to the effect of "We have no idea how any of this works, we didn't design this place, we just inherited it, we have no idea how we get fresh water etc." The designs of the mechs might have been handed down, which is why there was no protection, maybe they don't know how to make glass. This is also why the one guy who did understand how the mahines worked was able to use it to create the emp. By breaking the motor of the gate the counter weight created the emp.
@ajwatcher

Correction. The reason the APU doesn't have armor is efficiency of limited resources. In the history of first war with Machine it was shown how armor didn't mean much. Original APU is full armor from head to toe. And the Sentinels just cut the armor open and rip the guy out. And remember, this was the battle when Humanity was at its peak. Now, humanity had even less than that. The Machines can pierce whatever armor they can make at that point, so why bother? So the prevailing logic here: let's cut as much resources as needed to create one APU. It's just enough if it can move and aim the guns. How many more APU / guns to the fight can we brought into the fight from all the additional resources we got from stripping the armor away from every individual APU? The strategy here is win big risk big: Strength in numbers and Offense is the best defense.

Overrun locusts type tactics. When there's a 100,000 machines to every one man it's only a matter of time before your reloaders get picked off or just tired from doing that for hours on end.

@@sscaesar3569By that logic, any armored vehicle is a walking coffin. The safety and protection of your vehicle operators can increase their combat effectiveness by orders of magnitude. Humanoid robots are pretty much nonsense anyway. Also why are robots holding guns like people instead of having it embedded in them? Maybe because they have other purposes. Nevertheless a real effective design for this would be something like a tank, optimized to shooting up
@gorillajoe9572
3 ай бұрын
@ovaccari7547 1. Humanoid robots do make sense in this movie, because in a world where an AI controlls everything, you really don't want robots that are controlled by another AI. 2. Obviously the robots hold the guns instead of the humans, because the guns they are using are way to big and heavy, which is the whole reason for the humanoid robots in the first place, just see it as a mobile weapons platform and not a robot. 3.Protecting the human pilot doesn't make any sense, because the enemy doesn't use projectile weapons, and as soon as the enemy is in close range and it gets to 'hand to hand' combat it doesn't matter if you have no protection or if you are sitting in a tank, because the machines can rip a tank apart in seconds, cause they are super strong and use lasers to cut through metal, and there are a shitload of them. Just look at the big defense tower in the middle, they took it out in litteraly one second. The one thing i do have to criticise is that the machines are not even trying to kill the humans, most of them just fly around and do nothing, if they would have really tried, the battle would have been over in 5 seconds.

@rodrigovaccari7547

@ajoe9572 1. how is a pilotable robot less controllable by AI than any other pilotable vehicle aka tank? 2. You missed my point entirely, nice. Does a tank hold a cannon, or have one embedded in it? A weapons system design to hold a gun with a hand will always be bigger, heavier, clumsier, and more complex than a system with a gun embedded into it. 3. We have seen the machines sent by the matrix took time to get into a ship due to its protection. You are comparing the protection of a single combatant against a whole army. Of course then it makes no sense, because your comparison makes no sense in the first place.
