I was a tender 17 years young when this show aired in 1971. Thanks so much for these great memories and for sharing this with us!!! I look for a classic Welk Show to enjoy every Saturday night. This one really made my evening a pleasant one!! ;o)

@@canadianlawrencewelkfan9816 This show was canceled by ABC as they, along with CBS and NBC were getting rid of the shows that weren't doing well anymore, i.e. appealing to Middle America, and replace them with new shows. _The Johnny Cash Show,_ _The Ed Sullivan Show,_ _The Hollywood Palace,_ and _The Red Skelton Show_ ended because of it. What came in their place? New shows: CBS, for example, had started up _The Mary Tyler Moore Show,_ _M*A*S*H,_ and the works of Norman Lear. But Welk was ready as syndication was going to be where the show continued until he retired in 1982. There were three shows that had their music within the syndication run: _Soul Train,_ _Hee Haw,_ and _The Lawrence Welk Show._
