Like the photo of Paul for starters! Great to get more detail on the gradients Julian. Keep the global comedy double act going.

I'm looking forward to seeing new sandling junction develop. I found your channel via Paul's (he is also responsible for me finding bexhill west) which I am very glad about. Hope you had a great time whilst in the uk. With regards gets, i wasn't able to make it this year unfortunately, but did go last year and unfortunately found it rather disappointing from a disability point of view. However it was still a good day. A shame your trip couldn't cover the Warley show really as that is the biggest we get here (and of course as a result most expensive), and typically has some of the best layouts across all scales, gauges, locations and eras. If you get the chance to visit the uk again i would highly recommend it. However some of the smaller shows can be amongst the best we have (imo scaleforum and expoem are amongst the best in terms of modelling quality and demu showcase is about the best in terms of diesel and electric shows (though I am a bit biased as a) i model p4 and b) i am the editor for DEMU's update magazine)). Look forward to future station road updates.

A great video chum and the week went so fast, but it was memorable. we must figure out a way of continuing the banter and humor, not sure how, but it would be worth some thought. Thank you for the thanks and the end, Catherine was so pleased for us that it went so well. cheers P

Great video Julian , was great to say a quick hello at GETS. The planning you both put into the layout is fantastic, and you can really see the benefits in such a unique space.

Good to see you got back safe and looking in a bit better health it must have been the English climate that got you. Looking forward to seeing what you purchased in the UK (model railway wise) and I hope you baught your wife a nice gift also (it helps).

Lovely to see a firm friendship developing over recent weeks and have the feeling it is when and not if further visits are made! FaceTime and the like make keeping in touch in real time pretty straightforward, even if as I find with a friend in Australia, the time difference can make things interesting! With a house move coming up next year, the fine detail, planning and other building tips are excellent, even if running a lot of older locos, won’t have anywhere near as much in the way of gradients…

Hi Julian. It was a real shame about the shamble over the buses to the exhibition. On my two visits to the Arena, I managed to park in the adjoining car park. I know that the banter between you and Paul was all in fun, but it seemed that Paul's comments were a little on the curt side. It would be great if Paul & Catherine were able to visit you in NZ and I would love to see the videos!

I have recently been spending a lot of time considering how to support inclines on an open frame. I had finally come up with a similar idea to your adjustable risers, however, I had not considered using them for super elevation - I was going down the avenue of thin card strips to cant the track... maybe time for a bit more thought!!

They can be rather challenging potentially can't they! Sometimes I think the best approach is eliminate them wherever possible as a starting point really, having them because they look nice alone I don't think is worth the potential headaches with boards and stock.
