There are various versions of the legend of Sarıkız, which is included in the legends of the Turkmen villagers settled in Kazdağları and is a good example of the folk tale genre in folkloric oral literature.
1) Many years ago, a beautiful girl lived on this mountain. They called him Sarıkız, because of his long blond hair, all the village boys were in love with this Sarıkız ... But those who could not attract him made up a rumor about him. They said that the so-called Sarıkız had taken a bad path and slept with other people. Although Sarıkız knew that these rumors were false, he could not let his father be affected by these rumors. He found the cure to flee to the mountain top After a while, Sarıkız's father could not stand the rumors and went to the mountain to kill his daughter. Sarıkız also saw that he was feeding the geese there and it was understood that he was not on a bad road at all. It is not easy for a father to kill his son, of course, he said, "Let me perform a prayer first." He asked Sarıkız for water to make ablution. Sarıkız filled the jug from the sea as it reaches the top of the mountain and handed it to his father. His father fainted on the spot because of the salt water he took in his mouth without saying where he got it.
