I still think they didn’t have to do that, I would have loved to see Korra interacting with more of the past avatars! Yes Korra managed to do it all on her own in the end and that’s also part of why her character development is so good, but still i’ve always wondered why the writers made that decision since they just can’t bring that connection back anymore in the future, the only way how they could still use that element is for the next avatar to have a spiritual connection with Korra, but besides Korra no other avatars.
@Narutoanime16g

I like that they did that gives this version more stakes than the last show & Korra really has no spirit help . Anag always went to Roku for advice for the most part
@patrickcromwell7554
7 ай бұрын
Yeah I really feel like the only reason they did that was to remove ALL comparison of her with Aang. This show tries really hard to TELL us Koorra is superior to Aang in every way. what better way to do that than to sever her connection to the past Avatars and have her "girl-boss" her way to victory without any handicap?? I also find it just reinforces Tarloq's assesxsment of her as a "half-Baked" Avatar. without her past lives she's nowhere near as powerful and awe inspiring as Aang was. even people finding out Aang was the Avatar made them look afraid. But with Korra people are like "Oh. You're the Avatar....Hmph. So what." It's no longer a matter of NOT pissing off the Avatar; people actually WANT to fight the avatar to prove their own strength. It just shows how far BEING the Avatar has fallen.

Despite how idiotic and shortsighted Unalaq is being, he does have a point on the actions of Wan. Even if his intentions were good, he forever separated Raava and Vaatu from their physical link. Even the first airbenders were so spiritually aware that they knew that Vaatu was supposed to be attached to Raava
@slackindj
7 ай бұрын
Would it stand to reason their fight would have been ended with one of them attaching themselves to the other at the end? Remember without Wan, it appeared Raava had him on lock, as it had already been 10,000 years. In the instance Wan or even Unaloq wasn’t there, it probably would have been them being attached and one being incapacitated by the other for another 10,000 years until they came back. Wan broke the link but was it ever attainable again after the fact? If Vaatu had gotten so much bigger I don’t think she could have contained him to begin with. So ultimately, the only resolution would have been to seal him away.

He clearly thinks that he will be, at the very least, an equal partner and since he directly said he would become a Dark Avatar, I'd say he thinks he will be the dominant part of the partnership and not just equal - like the Avatar is.

@@iamdeathiamentropyiamdarks3517 You are overlooking a very major point - Raava is "Good" she is a spirit of light - Vaatu is "evil" - he is a dark spirit, one of chaos. Raava does not take control of the Avatar because that is not her nature - Vaatu on the other hand does not have that sort of nature. What you have said is like saying that if there are two people, one a narcissistic pathological liar and the other an empathetic, selfless honest person, then if you can give the selfless person your credit card to hold on to and nothing bad happens, you should also be able to give the liar your credit card and nothing bad will happen. If that was written in a story and the two people both respected the owner of the credit card and did nothing bad THAT would be bad writing.

I mean you say Unalok is crazy, but he's not more out of line than Ozai. He has a point better than Ozai did who purely wanted to destroy all nations and make everything ash pretty much. Unalok wants complete spiritual control pretty much. He's very misguided. But based on what he's seen in his life, i get it. Imo all the villains are pretty complex and have some good points. Granted Unalok is the weakest story wise too.

Except that if Korra in the Avatar State WAS so powerful as you say, she wouldn't have lost. And she did indeed lose. Her defeating Vaatu was not a victory by any means. Vatu EFFED her UP. Badly. I get Wan having issues, he was alone. But Korra with hundreds if not thousands of Avatars to help her should NOT have been so easily whooped. And let's not pretend it was NOT easy for UnaVatu to mess her up. I agree that the Avatar State IS extremely powerful; but Korra being utterly ignorant of everything spiritual has no clue HOW to use the Avatar State. she's completely clueless and just blindly stupidly lucks her way to victory because of plot armor and "reasons."
