Zyzz saved my life back in 2013. I had just lost my ex, had no job, and was morbidly obese. I started watching his vids and because of that I started reading up on nutrition and lifting. I went from 311lbs to 197 lbs in 8 months. I got healthier, smarter and started enjoying life again. I've since gained some weight back but I'm came here to look for inspiration again and I found it. Not gonna lie, this video made me cry. Never knew the guy but I felt like I truly did, I think we all feel like we knew him to some extent. Feels like we lost a friend.

@Erwin Lii There was a lot of powerful stuff you said there, & you’ll probably be surprised to hear that I actually agree with a good amount of it. I believe that a person’s purpose for doing anything in life matters (including pursuing a fit & healthy lifestyle), as it defines their “why” & which path they set out on. While Zyzz got his start because of a childhood where he was bullied (incredibly similar to my experience, as being badly bullied was the single biggest reason that I started working out as well), he & I took very different paths from there, as we developed a very different purposes after that point. Internet fame might be a big part of why that happened with him, but I don’t know enough to assume anything…..But that’s why I said what I did about the positives & negatives about him, & also why I was happy to learn that he had been changing his ways to want to be a much better role model, & use his influence for good in the latter part of his life. After all, It’s the purpose that guides us in what we do that ultimately comes to define us, and I also believe that people are capable of changing that about themselves along the path of their life. What you said about wanting a better body like me or Zyzz, and that nothing is effortless or comes without a cost also struck me for several reasons. On one hand, I’m well aware that Zyzz took PEDs to achieve his physique. I don’t judge people who choose to take PEDs, as whatever they do with their body is their business…..However I DO take issue with it when they are dishonest about it, especially when the main reason they present that lie is to sell products or services while pretending they achieved their physique naturally. I also don’t like how it reinforces body dysmorphia and the setting of unrealistic goals to countless people out there. I don’t know enough about Zyzz to know if he lied about his PED use, or lied to sell things, but sadly the fitness industry is FULL of people who do that, and who do actively prey on people’s desperation & insecurities as you said. In my case, please don’t judge a book by its cover, as I’ve always been the polar opposite of all that nonsense. I started working out at 14 years old, & I’m now a 42 year old married father of 2 young boys who I aim to be the best possible role model for every single day. Achieving my fitness goals did come from great consistent efforts over the last 28 years, and the main “costs” for me have been removing a future of likely poorer health, becoming more confident, having a productive outlet for when I have a bad day, and my time. I have NEVER touched a single drug of any kind my entire life, nor will I ever, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of. So I am here to tell you that you can achieve reasonable & attainable fitness goals for yourself, & you shouldn’t let all the BS, lies, & scams out there stop you from putting in the positive & productive efforts to start following a regular exercise program that’s both appropriate, sustainable, & enjoyable for you…..because I promise that your future self will thank you for doing that! Every bit of time & effort I’ve put in the gym over all these years has been worth it, as it’s improved my life in innumerable ways, and has even been my career for the last 20 years as a fitness professional who gets to actually help people become the best, happiest, & healthiest versions of themselves every single day. And I do that with the utmost amount of integrity, because at the end of every day, I have to not only look in the mirror and like who I see, but I also have to answer to my kids to make sure they’re proud of their Dad too. Long story short, I’m with you as I actually share many of the same frustrations with the industry that you have. That’s one of the main reasons I threw my hat into the ring last year as well, by founding an online fitness coaching platform and a KZitem channel, both of which operate with the utmost of honesty & integrity. So thank you for leaving that thoughtful & important comment, and I wanted to let you know that there are actually good people in the industry who do truly care about doing things the right way & actually helping people who need & want it. And with that said, feel free to reach out anytime at all either in the comments or with a DM on Instagram, as I’m always happy to field any questions you might have, & I promise you’ll never be bothering me. Wishing you all the best Erwin! 👍

Maybe they're hating you because you're "trying to be an Influencer". You can't just "influence" people actively, doesn't work like that.. You should look at yourself, keep your head down and work hard. If you're worthy and if people are starting you follow your steps and your philosophy, that's it. You're an Influencer. A genuine one at least
@IO7AA

@@sterkar99 if you wanna be an influencer you have to actively try to be one. If you don’t then you’ll never make it. I know your reply wasn’t meant in a hateful way but in order to influence you have to leave your comfort zone and put yourself out there. I’m working hard every day but if I stopped trying to be an influencer then that defeats the point. Wether you have 1 loyal follower or 1 million you’re an influencer. All I wanna do is inspire people and even if I do only inspire one person it’s better than none but I’m an influencer nonetheless.

Every year quite a few world famous people die, that after 2 or 3 'RIP' on Twitter are forgotten forever ... this boy died at the very early age of 22 years, and after 10 years, tributes are still being paid to him and he is still remembered around the world. Whether you like Zyzz or not, it is epic what he did and what he achieved, I am from Spain, +15,000 km, and here he had an explosion of fame after his death, you saw many people doing their poses, wearing t-shirts (today today you see some in the gym) and if one was involved in the world of the gym, you knew him. I am the first to criticize the absolute madness he did with drugs, he made a totally deadly mix (huge amounts of non-stop roids + recreational drugs of all kinds + DNP and more), but leaving that aside, that with 22 years you can be Remembered a decade later, it is utterly insane.

This is the most well researched video on Zyzz! There's so many hard to find posts, photos, etc. here that fans and myself discovered and shared a few years ago on the FitMisc forums that paint a more complete picture of his story. It's very interesting to see that his popularity is reigniting 10 years after he passed and the conversation has shifted to who Aziz was behind the Zyzz persona. He was ahead of his time and the modern fitness industry, social media, and so much more stem from a butterfly effect of Zyzz's existence. I believe his philosophy and mentality can be applied to any area of life to pursue any passion.

For the newer people that are curious how and why Zyzz ultimately died; It was a cocktail combination of factors. He was in a country with a very warm climate (Thailand), he was taking steroids+ he was taking water retainer pills (pills that make your body sweat out excess stored water) and weight cutting supplements/drugs, he was also partying and probably had been taking some drugs (coke,mdma) and finally he was found in a Hot Tub or Jacuzzi which lead to his body being way way to overheated, not enough water In his system and his body was on max overdrive heart was pumping way to fast , which lead to him passing out in the hot tub/jacuzzi and lead to heart failure. He was an amazing influence to young men and fitness. RIP Zyzz

while inspiring others for years, i think we’ve seen a surge in his popularity in the lifting scene/community lately as he is a perfect time capsule for lack of better phrasing. he is a perfect symbolisation of the power and confidence that comes with strength and lifting while also the familiarity and comfort of late 2000s-early 2010s motifs; health & well-being and nostalgia for simpler times have both definitely been a greater part in peoples’ lives in recent years, especially the past 2 1/2. there’s something so much more personal and comforting in “we’re all gonna make it brahs” than “we all have to get used to the new normal”

It's crazy, he was just a kid who liked to dance but everyone made fun of him and picked on him for it. So he decided to get big as fuck so people would stop, but then he got famous and people made fun of him because he was too muscular and confident. Making it to where every show he would go to he would get harassed or jumped by negative people. He wasn't ever allowed to just be himself and go do what he loved to do, just because other people are assholes. It's pretty sad. This is why I hate music festivals. Music, dancing, and camping are all fun but other people always ruin it for me. There are so many assholes at everyone of these events, always without fail I end getting in a fight with someone just because they are wasted and are just looking for someone to fight with.
