One of my favorite (if dated) boxing documentaries. I was surprised to find out that the original uncut version is not easy to find. There's a shortened version that was shown on espn classic. My copy was duplicated from a vhs cassette back in 1990 and later converted to dvd and then digitalized so it is not the best quality as P2P degrades the picture. A few parts fade out or blur as well.
Sections not in the ESPN classic version include 2 minutes of footage cut during Fitzsimmons' championship, a small piece following the Dempsey Willard fight and then about 28 minutes at the end that goes through Dempsey's later fights and the long count vs Tunney. The cut version is about 70 minutes long but this upload is 99 1/2 minutes, which I think is the complete documentary.
I remember watching this over and over in the mid 70s when it was played on HBO as it had some great footage in it and contained other historical context as well. Already a boxing fan, remembering watching Foreman destroy Frazier in 1973 as a 7 year old, this movie helped pique my interest in boxing history that has remained to this day.
