And that people of the tube is how you can stand in front of a camera in your socks and bring your listeners to a stunned, draw dropping silence where they are too frightened to blink or breath in case one of those beautiful notes gets missed. Dave Simpson is simply the best most inventive and heart felt guitar player in the world my friends and this just proved it. I thank you Dave for one of the most stunning performances I have ever heard. wow!!

@@PeterDad60 okay, so imo, dave is not the best guitarist in the world, never the less he is certainly a talented bloke, and if he is someone's favourite guitarist ever, then that is an entirely valid opinion. If you happen to get out more like you are suggesting to Steve, most people probably think you're a prick, because you have to be to say something so deliberately negative. Sadly the jokes truly on you here and you are only showing you're own insecurity, because you only seem able to validate yourself, by invalidating others, and that's to bad, it must hurt, but it's of your own making, good luck with your life you're going to need it, with an attitude like that.

Scott was always the ultimate dude. Kept the flame going whilst all the others came and went, looked awesome just hanging out at the right of Phil and didn't need the spotlight, yet when it was time for him to solo he made it look effortless and it sounded great. His playing had a lot of funk and soul as well as the blues and he wasn't afraid of a lighter touch if it suited the song. Plus he looked so...bloody...cool!

A big HI 👋 from New Zealand, Really enjoyed watching this. I just tracked down a script 45 and can't wait for it to arrive. Your playing is almost hypnotic .. soooo good ... and then you bring out the bow … mind blown 🤯!! such a great demo of what the MXR phasers can do. What I love most about your videos is that you are not like all the other shredders out there in that you give the music a bit of room to breathe, letting your guitar have a voice rather than loads of sentences without full stops … if you get what I mean. looking forward to the next one 🎸✌

Just wow. Utterly jaw dropping stuff here, Dave. I had always presumed phaser to be an over the top chorus prior to this. You may have just sold one (or clone). The slow sweep shreddy sound I'd assumed to be an engaged wah and careful foot. I'm hearing it everywhere now! Thank you.

Thank you Dave, I am going to download the section where you speak so eloquently about Mr. Scott Gorham, and simply play it whenever I am discussing the most underrated guitarist of all time (IMHO LOL). I too have immense hair-envy of Scot Gorham, and I grew up in the 1970's and 80's wanting to be him (or at least be able to play like him, and be on every teenage girls bedroom wall too - that never hurts when it comes to obsessive male teenage Rock N Roll fantasies). And he's still going strong! More strength to his elbow - which might help with his golf obsession as well! Massively good playing from you Dave, as always you make the guitar sing, and your demonstrations always hit the mark from the players perspective. Much appreciated.

Loved the intro. And yes could instantly tell the Scott Gorham vibe. Its interesting as you consider the Phase 90 as the 'Scott pedal' and, as you say, many others consider it the 'EVH pedal' but yet to me it is the 'Gilmour pedal' and always think of Shine On... other Floyd classics and the like. Gilmour was one of the 1st to utilise it from its inception back in '74. Great pedal used by the greats. Simple as that.

Ok, at last I've taken it clearly: Scott was first, then Eddie second 😆 Thanx a lot for this video: as always, your complete explanation is very illustrative. I want to test the Phaser 90 to get the Dave Murray's tone, once I have now a MXR d+ (script-logo clon; definitely, different tone compared with modern MXR-Dunlop block-logo yellow versions, a little bit more aggressives). BTW, I love your playing style. Best regards 🎸🎵🎶

Thin Lizzy were the penultimate act to play the Dagenham Roundhouse late 75. Can’t remember his pedals but I do remember his stage persona. Lemmy and Motörhead got the venue closed by the GLC because of the volume and violence when they played a couple of months before Thin Lizzy’s last gig there. Love Lemmy but gutted the Roundhouse had to close its doors. So many truly great bands played there. Check out the Wikipedia Dagenham Roundhouse list of bands it will make your head spin.
