If you just want some photo samples check 5:56-6:25 There’s a lot of me just rambling before that :)

Great camera. I have both that and the Fuji X100V. I agree with everything you said - It's slow, AF sucks, blows highlights too quick, and there is too much noise at high ISO's (anything over 3200). With that said, it's the nicest camera i have ever had, and the shooting experience blows away anything else out there. The RAW files are the most usable files I have ever used, and the image quality is out of this world. I think I'll keep it ;)

I am a video guy, so Canon C70, Sony FX30 and FS5. But for years I used the Canon 5D Markii and iii for video and fast stills. Got the Leica Q2 and adore it…makes me more intentional…slows me down. But wow…it did feel slow at first. Just meant I needed to learn, and that was humbling.

Absolutely, I definitely think adapting to that slower and more intentional shooting style has made me a better Photographer

I have been interested in the Q series for a very long time. In my opinion it is the most beautiful camera in the world, the workmanship and design are completely to my taste. If it were just about this point, the Q2/Q3 would be my dream camera. But at this price I want a camera that I like in every respect. I own the a7IV and several GM prime lenses and the autofocus on the Q2 (not Q3) is significantly slower, no comparison. If you want to photograph sports, the Q2 is too slow. They have significantly improved the Q3 in this respect, but in my opinion the Q series is not intended for this area anyway. Then the 28mm (26mm?) is just too far for me. I use my 50GM or 35GM significantly more than my 24GM. Then I like the crop less. 28mm 1.7 crop to 35mm is not the same as fixed 35mm 1.4. I'm also interested in what Fucji brings this year for a successor to the X100v.

I think you have a defective camera; mine does NONE of those things you’re pointing out. What type of photography are you mostly doing with the Q2?

I'm pretty sure mine doesn't have any actual issues that aren't supposed to be there. I've shot a lot of different stuff from street, fashion, event, cars and even some car races with it. I find that if I was only using it for what I bought it for as my fun camera none of that would actually bother me, I probably wouldn't even have mentioned it but because I inevitably took it on some actual jobs where everything is a bit more fast paced that's where I really notice all these things

Yeah, I dunno. I think Sony trains people to be overly reliant. I was out shooting kids having a snowball fight in low light. Shadows of NYC even, which have a particular ability to eat away light. Zero issues with autofocus... and I was on the original Q. I don't think I've had autofocus issues since like... The Nikon D70.

Totally get that and ultimately it's fine, it get's the job done but it's also just objectively bad compared to other cameras even in 2019. Where I find it struggles a lot is just in fast paced scenarios more documentary style work. (Also shoot a lot in low light and yeah that's never been an issue for it) I also had the original Q before and it's basically the same AF performance

I'm afraid you do something wrong. You got the last firmware?

Hey, thanks for the concern but I really don't think I am. I'm on Firmware 5.0 but it's not like that was even that much of an improvement over some of the older ones
