@@iwil3293 You mean not looked at favorably by the academic Christophobe types. Who would find every last reason to defend a Jihad while slandering any Crusade, that merely responded to the threat of it. Crusades were a response to violent Islamic expansion. Then we locked it down for 90 years, and just like the modern Western (Christian) world, support at home failed and the Arabs took over. Israel belongs to the Jews and Christians.

@@stevewaterstone2713 Well... Thing is I understand completely where you're coming from, and I don't fault you at all for the concerns in your comments. But please know that when I made my original comment, I did not mean it in a "Christians are better than everyone else and should take the Holy Land for themselves" but more of a "Because Baldwin was known as a kind, wise ruler that didn't want violence, I think we could use someone like that." And the using the Lord's name was a turn of phrase that probably was a poor choice of words, I'll cop to that completely. Today's Jews are nothing like Baldwin. They are shady, every bit as ruthless and treacherous as the terrorists they are fighting. There's a reason why Hamas and Palestine and most of the Middle East hates Israel the way they do. The Jews are not these innocent people unfairly being attacked by Hamas and Palestine. Palestine is an open air prison. They can't leave. The Jews won't let them. They shut off electricity to Palestine, block roads. The only way East to the Middle East is through Israel they can't go to the Middle East there are only other option is to go through Egypt. The Jews are greedy n corrupt as hell. There's a reason why just about every civilization has had a group of people that wanted to kill the Jews throughout all of history there has been a group that wanted the Jews gone think about that. The Muslims, The Christians, The Romans. The nazi were far from the first civilization in history that wanted to get rid of Jews. Think about that. The Jews bring this on themselves.

Kingdom of Heaven did so much justice to display both sides of this story. Hollywood don't make movies like that anymore. Baldwin and Salahdin were epic legends... very few historical figureheads of Medieval times gained such respectable words about them. We don't even have modern versions of them... that is how awesome they were. If only modern Christiandom and Islam-dom would learn from these men and pay honor and respect for one another. So what I'm hearing in some of this story is that once Baldwin defeated Saladin they struck a truce for two years. Then Saladin breaks the truce and starts striking at farmers and farmland. Then after striking another truce someone who wasn't a bipartisan in it attacks some of his troops and pilgrims. So Saladin breaks the truce and attacks all Christian states. Why didn't Saladin just approach Baldwin and inform him of the travesty? We know that Baldwin was a meticulous man and would have at least brought some justice for attacking pilgrims, but we had already seen that Saladin didn't care for honor to a certain extent.
