Steve is my dad not blood but this man's words have gave me a path in life that no father has in my life . I never met him but I as a 50 year old man has cried more listening to his words .I pray to God to meet this man I call a father and a friend I never met . I would cry like a baby . Thank you father for your heart and words you supply all the people that are your family. Love you very much .

I don't beleive this. You might have depression, but every day is not a bad day. You don't feel in the dumps every day, and you don't hate life every day. Some days are good days, some days people make you happy, they make you smile, and you can have a good time with them. That is Joy. You might have depression, but you can also have joy. It all depends on your frame of mind and what you are thinking. Change the way you think. REPEAT THAT!

It is the egg and sperm that miraculously creates another human being how then can we be talking about single parent? He's my baby's father but he's not my husband, she's my baby's mother but she is not my wife. This is the major problem as it relates to the issue of relationships too many persons are not counting the cost, and that moment of pleasure becomes a lifetime of pain and regret.

My husband passed away when my son was 6 (he's the baby) and he missed all that. It hit him hard as a teenager well starting at 12. Stayed in trouble. I was so scared for him the stuff he was doing. He's not 19 now and I'm so incredibly proud of him. He's a good father, goes to school and works. He completely cut all the bad stuff. He learned the power of trusting prayer.

My mom and dad had a pact: he went and played baseball on Friday nights...and on Sunday he had to get up get us out of the house by 8(three girls) we always went for a ride on the merry go roind wentbto parks went to fishbor to the beach in San Diego. It was a perfect arrangement..my mom got to go to a matenee by herswlf in the after noon. The lady who lived accross from us always made coffe and looked out her kitchen window to see my dad with us. She said when he dies...thats what she pictured....years later many people have moved in and out of our house bit she still lives there. She still makes her coffee..and sees him getting us in the car.

My brothers and I all grew up with a mom and dad but we were a dysfunctional family. Domestic violence was a common thing in the house. Dad was physically and verbally abusive to all of us. He's a narcissist. Nobody dared to oppose him because he's got guns (He's in the military). Then one day our dad finally left us, mom had to raise us all by herself. She worked hard day and night so she can put food on the table and send us all to school. There were times we couldn't even go to school because we couldn't afford the bus fare. It was really tough but all the pain and the struggles didn't stop us from reaching our dreams. My mom was our solid rock and if it weren't because of her, we won't be successful professionals today. Now, she deserves all the love and support in her old age. As for my brothers, despite the childhood trauma caused by our abusive dad, they still managed to work on themselves and be the kind of man they are right now. So proud of them. ♥ Never ever let your bad experiences ruin your dreams. Use it as your motivation. 💪

So Steve basically says: Ahh sorry I didn't raise you son but it's because I belong to the world and I was really busy being Uncle Steve to people who didnt know me. That has to be the most narcissistic thing I've ever heard someone say. Steve uses the excuse of only being 25 but he left a young woman to look after his kids and that young woman didn't get to make excuses, she had to grow up fast to survive. Children with absent parents tend to have a fascination with the idea of the absent parent, especially if they have grown up in hardship with a single parent and the absent parent has wealth. They should never forget the parent that sacrificed everything for them and the parent that actually cared for them from the day they were born.

I love that those guys want to mentor the 19 year old. As a guy raised by a single mum, I certainly would have loved a man, not necessarily my mum's man, to look up to or ask certain things and learn from. I hope they follow through.

Steve Harvey what you did in this episode is special and essential. The entire world needs to reminded of the importance of family, the bonds within families and support when family structures are torn. Men should always support men and mentor men. Mentorship should be part of our civil duty in society as a whole. God Bless you all and may your lives be blessed through your endeavors.

Steve is a blessing to this world. As a man who is in the limelight, who could be promoting bad life styles, drugs, and selling an unrealistic image to the world like many famous people do today, he stays humble and shows love and compassion for everyone. Instead of pretending these issues don’t exist in our society, he’s willing to sit and talk with people to get to the bottom of some of these issues. I love this man

Every man is hurting without their father in their life. The key to bridge the gap in your life young men is seeking out your father and forgiving him in person for everything he hurt you with and then forgiving your mother the same way in person. Try it it works instantly and 100 pounds lifts off your shoulders. Try it it might be the hardest thing you ever did but do it for yourself!. Steve is on point

That guy hit it right on the spot with the mentors and that's exactly what you need with sobriety too you need you need multiple sponsors because one isn't always in a good mood one isn't always going to enter that phone sometimes that person has an emergency they are human too

Jeez... This is amazing. I am crying because my husband died last year at the age of 36 years old , our son was only 3... he just turned 5 and barely has any memory of his father. I can't tell you how many sleepless nights I've had , or how many tears I've cried, worrying about how the hell imma raise a man by myself, and how he'll be affected. I never had any brothers growing up or male cousins, so I'm totally out of my element and not to mention Ihae been severely affected by grief and financial burden so I'm trying to fill the role of 2 people when I'm not even 1. This was really really helpful and eye opening . Thank you , sincerely , for doing this.

Steve, you are so right ... when kids grow up in a troubled relationship, they will emulate it thinking that's how it should be.
