I discovered this man on the Ken Burns Frank Lloyd Wright documentary and became immediately entranced by his intelligence and enthusiasm for history and nature.

I had the pleasure of attending Prof. Bill Cronon's classes at Madison. A great professor, lecturer, storyteller and inspiration of history.

Came here after hearing about “The Trouble With Wilderness” on the podcast Outside / In. Instantly obsessed and can’t wait to read that essay, his books (or blogs, or tweets, or whatever length form is out there)

Read Changes in the Land. You can open anywhere in it and learn so much! The bibliography is 29 pages. Then you got your reading cut out for you.

Very meta at 49:00 to 49:40. I thank all involved for all the wisdom which I had a chance to enjoy.

Great guy, brilliant… however, i cant get past how, while speaking in intimate settings (Ken Burns, small groups, etc.) he always speaks with his head turned slightly away while maintaining side-eye contact. It’s barely noticeable until you notice…and then it’s literally all you can think of whole he's speaking. You’re welcome.

Amazing, stuff about Lincoln is poignant. In some sense all documents are just stories……about stories

Lincoln is a fraud. The South did not need to be destroyed nor did 500,000 men. Lots more to that story.
