Ukrainian Soviet film of 1956 directed by Grigoriy Krikun "The Girl from the Lighthouse". Shot based on the story by Oles Gonchar "To Make the Light Shine" from 1955. The film was shot in Kerch on the coast of the Azov Sea.
The plot of the film tells about the family of a lighthouse keeper, former boatswain Aisty, living on a small island. Masha, Aisty's daughter, is in love with Igor, the captain of a sea boat, who from time to time brings a lamp for the lighthouse. Meetings between Mashenka and Igor bring suffering to the motorman Demyan, who is in love with Mashenka. Soon Igor is carried away by another girl. Trusting Masha waits for him in vain...
