Jon Pertwee was always a master of how you should act/narrate for children - exactly the same as for adults because they're people and viewers, too!

I was one of the kids who sang the theme tune for this show. Still waiting for the royalty cheques to flood in!

If so, can you help clarify the hard to decipher lyrics please? 😊

I had a few books and annuals with the little green man in but I never saw an episode, I never knew Jon Pertwee narrated the cartoon. This was fabulous to see.

It's amazing that I haven't seen or thought about this in decades but now I see it, it all feels so familiar. Thank you for unlocking memories.

It's a delightful and brilliantly narrated programme but I swear I'd understand the theme song better if it was sung in the Little Green Man's native language!

I spy three glaring flaws with this story, and I know I'm not the target audience for this programme, but I suspect I would have noticed them as a child too: If Greenie can only be seen and heard by Skeats, and not by anyone else, then the very fact that Skeats could see Greenie at the start of the episode was enough for Greenie to know who he was, without needing to ask him. If Greenie can only be seen and heard by Skeats then why on earth does Greenie need to come in through the window on this occasion, given that Skeats clearly already has the door open and has to go in through said door himself, so Greenie could go in just ahead or just behind him without anyone knowing anyway. If the fire brigade were able to get a ladder up to the window where the remaining children were then they could have told them to come down the ladder, or else carried them down if they were too small to negotiate the ladder, rather than just leaving them to burn due to the lack of an escape chute. And if they weren't able to get the ladder up originally due to the flames spreading then something must have already changed to make it become possible, which would also negate the need for the chute.

True, but more than this - why did the Little Green Man WAVE at the other children when they couldn't see him anyway? That is something else which surely gets overlooked? LOL.

Did they make the sound effect for the hose at 8:14 with an Amstrad CPC? It has exactly the same tinny quality to the sound as a 464's internal speaker!

2:27 It's sad to see such a severe form of mental illness afflict a child of such a young age. Grandiose Delusional Disorder doesn't usually manifest in an individual until their late teens/early adulthood.
