I can’t stop wwatchying the trailer and I can’t stop googling to watch people of color reacting to this trailer because this … this … this feels like It is going to be a really big deal. There is something about her innocence and her perfection (let’s just call it what it is) for this role that somehow makes this movie in particular seem like its going to be effing magical. Not just magical but MaGiCaL and any other way I can type it. I honestly cannot stop watching this trailer I’ve watched it like fifty times.

😡😠👿🧐Those of us who love the original movie expected a minimum original live action in actors, I am not a racist, I myself have colored skin and I love it, but this forced inclusion is that, FORCED, why didn't they make another mermaid and that's it? Or a friend for ariel? Why thousands morals, or the new replacement for Captain America or simply a new hero as a panther if they are colored and why do they not respect the original here? Let's see why tom hollan if it's spider-man and not another colored skin actor, come on! It is not fair, this forced inclusion was with a classic tale that many of us love because of how it was from the animated and cartoon version, it was our mermaid, and they changed it, I do not accept this, I liked its effects, beautiful young woman but I loved me ariel just like that, I'm not racist, simply ariel is the ariel they sold me, and already, as I said I'm of color, nothing against disney, but it didn't seem fair to me that little ariel didn't have a defined nationality, and because she was the one who The fans loved more, you will not respect her as is, that is my pain, I also loved MJ as he was, but his change did not bother me. But this yes, it was my favorite, I expected it as it was and oh you go and mess with itz when they change sony for an orange fox, spiderman for another colored spider man and that this time it is not from another universe but the original Let's see if the fans don't come over you, because that's what you did to us, the same thing when you were going to change jonny depp from pirates of the caribbean, it's love for the original character, there is no racism, I hope they understood, now I just want to see the movie out of curiosity but since it's just curiosity I won't go to the movies, I'll see it when I can and that's it... I'm sorry it's not racism it's total disagreement with the character not respected as a classic, I would have accepted a black ariel in another version but not in the first... the first was the first, disney happened to me, I won't go see her at the movies, nor crazy, beautiful actress I'm a fan of her voice but I also had my favorite disney princess and many times I dreamed of her in live action but no like this and they have ruined it for me, I hope they understand that it is not racism. It's love for the original character I fell in love with the white redhead and already... with blue eyes but thanks for ruining it

@@artsyafroqueen no one said black, but they are still offended if one says so, what's wrong with being black or not, isn't it more racism to feel less or not want or believe that you can identify with a character just because of their skin color, what does he have to see the skin so that they feel excluded or not taken into account, here the racists are you who believe that you cannot identify with a character just because he is white when she is clearly the same "a woman" who has to see the color of skin so that they demand the change of the character, I insist because you do not respect it?

You really think Disney, one of the whitest companies out there, would risk their reputation of making millions of dollars, to use "Us" and risk making a movie that you say will flop, causing them a bad reputation or put a negative mark on their name? No company like that will risk anything for "US "... use your head. The fact she's a great singer and actress went totally over your head. So it has to be something else if a black woman is cast. Not her talent. What about Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as the fairy godmother? They were used too.. but that movie didn't flop and wasn't terrible. Even with a diverse cast... you need to wake up and realize some people have actual talent and that's why they are "used"

Nah, Ariel is black now and that's okay. Wanna know why? Because Ariel is a mermaid a mythical creature and contrary to what you may believe White people do not hold the monopoly on fictional characters. Ariel could be any ethnicity because her "race" is fish lol. You need to stop using woke as some kind of insult, it's not and diversity is a great thing. Ariel very well could have been played by a white actress and we still would have watched and supported it because we are not racists.

@@narutoking16 Kingdom of Atlantica takes place at Denmark, however, she shouldn't have been ginger in the original film, and also saying that she's "just a fish" is a weak mentality if you don't know the original reason why Ariel wanted to become a human. If anything, this should've been a story of its own instead of "reimagining" the original material that was The Little Mermaid and trying to appease the "woke" people as you say and _maybe_ this movie could've work by applying diversity in a smart manner but no, this movie will flop and will be forgotten to time like Lion King, Mulan, Aladdin, Cinderella, any movie that has been part of the "live action remake" because cartoon or 2d movies are for yesteryear apparently.
@narutoking16

@@VlazeSkylax The little mermaid was written by Hans Christian Andersen and yes he lived in Denmark. Disney's adaption however is not a "danish tale" Atlantica is not in Denmark, Ariel isn't even a ginger lol her firetruck red hair was decided by artist Glen Keane to make her unique and contrast her green tail. Saying that she is a fish is weak mentality? Nah not at all, The OP stated that Ariel was being race swapped and I clarified her race which is a mermaid lol. Anybody can be a fictional character, her skin colour shouldn't and ultimately doesn't matter. The story "Disney's" adaptation wont change just because they cast a black person, she could be Asian or Latina hell even blue and nothing story wise would change. It's okay to want a white Ariel for accuracy to the animated classic, but what's not okay is to be racist and try to come up with asinine reasons for why a "black" girl can't play her too. Like I stated above, white people do not hold the monopoly on fictional characters. People need to be "woke" to the truth that diversity and inclusivity are not some political ploy or "agenda". They are not mutually exclusive and news flash, if you have an issue with diversity that is inherently racist. This movie isn't going to flop lol, The Lion King may not have gotten rave reviews but it made over a billion dollars in the box office lol that is NO flop. Cinderella and Aladdin also did not flop lol stop lying, no live action Disney remake has flopped, not even Dumbo and that was a horrible remake. They all have made above or beyond their budgets. @@MetalArms16212 You and Vlaze Skylax must get paid to lie 😂. I sure hope so because this is facetious garbage. Zendaya's casting was a rumour, a debunked rumour at that. The only people who were up in arms and making ugly and racists comments were the same people complaining about Halle being Ariel now. Black people were on board for representation no matter who portrayed Ariel. You're really out here trying to imply that we are the racists? Zendaya is a bi-racial woman who identifies as black, she is more than accepted in our community. Oh that deflecting game is strong but also pretty weak. You're showing very racist tendencies Matt and though it's not okay, at least have some conviction and stand by your words. I hate repeating myself but here goes, Anybody can play Ariel, mermaids are not REAL, they are fictional mythical beings and are NOT exclusive to only white people. It is okay to share these fictional roles, you don't own them. You don't own Ariel she is Disney's property and they chose a black actress to portray her. Respectfully, Get over it.
