+Last Ninja Pierce Brosnan would have the dalton films, if Remington steele wasn't un-cancelled.... But you're right, Pierce would been a bit unseasoned and too young to be Bond, and his films had too many toilet jokes in them. In terms of real and ruthless spy action, Dalton and Craig are near dead even, with the Dalton getting the edge(Quantum of Solace was an utter mess.)

This has always been my favorite Bond film. Such a great balance of old and new, silly and serious, over-the-top and plausible. John Berry was at the height of his game. The A-Ha theme song is criminally underrated. Timothy Dalton disappears into the role in a way that none of the other actors portraying Bond ever have. Maryam d'Abo is perhaps the only genuinely sweet and likable Bond girl from the entire franchise. Everything about this movie just feels perfect to me.
@truth901
3 жыл бұрын
A shame this film was underrated at the time...its brilliant!! Timothy Dalton is really good (and appreciate his unique Bond style) and Maryam D'abo was one of the best Bond girls ever!! (I just wish that Timothy Dalton accepted the Bond role for OHSS instead of Lazenby. He declined as he felt he was too young at the time...how much better that film would have been if Dalton played Bond back in 1969!)

The looping industrial percussion in this really sells the horns. By the time the trumpet hits, you're well into the heroism of the action, but then the strings come in and add more drama. Barry was a king.
