As much as I do like a bit of modern day movie musicals, I prefer the old fashioned ones too or on stage. They just have refreshing quality that are still a bit resonant today.

When I took German in high school, we learned that "zeigen" is the verb "to show." But sometimes we got our vowels mixed up and said "ziegen" instead. The teacher said, "Nein, nein! 'Ziegen' means 'goats'."

A favorite song of mine from one of the greatest movies of all times. The Sound of Music is on the top 3 of my sentimental favorites-- my other two are Mary Poppins, and The Wizard of Oz. I cant help turning up the sound and singing along with this song; its happy and makes me feel good. Julie Andrews had such a beautiful voice. Those high notes? Wow! 😃

As an early childhood teacher, I believe that music do bring out the best leaning ability, competency and talents of children and even adults. Music like such can really get everyone involved in and inspire them pursue excellence. Bravo! The best actress, music and movie!

I just love the sound of music. I love the kids and Julie Andrews. The movie reminds me my childhood, and the farewell part reminds me when I was thirteen and I carried a little girl. I wish I can meet Julie Andrews.

Watching this when I grew up I could see why everyone feel in love with Julie Andrews as Maria, she's gorgeous and a voice to match. This is one of my favorite scenes and I love the Sound of Music. It's by far one of the biggest contributors to my love of music and my connection with music. I love it couldn't praise it more if I tried.

I just love Julie Andrews she is is my #1 Favorite Actress and will always be my #1 Favorite. At the age of 7 or so her Father discovered she had a fully devloped 4 Octive range, she was born with that voice. God gave it to her and I thank him for it!
