The pleasant friendship of Janet Forbes, played by Loretta Young, and Dr. Dale Sargent, portrayed by Tom Helmore, is threatened in this play which begins in the busy city of Chicago.
Janet is a woman who doesn’t know how important her relationship is with the doctor, until the fact that he is married threatens to put an end to it. In the end, one twist of fate brings them together romantically - and another almost destroys their chance of rediscovering each other.
The large cast of this episode includes; Tom Helmore. an English film actor who appeared in more than 50 films between 1927 and 1972, including three directed by Alfred Hitchcock. In British and American films, Helmore was mostly employed as a dapper, comedic actor, even if he is best known for his role as the villain Gavin Elster in Vertigo. He died in Longboat Key, Florida, on September 12, 1995 at age 91.
Eleanor Audley, portraying Edith Landow, who had a distinctive voice in radio and animation, in addition to her TV and film roles and is best remembered on television as Oliver Douglas's mother, Eunice Douglas, on the CBS sitcom, Green Acres (1965-69); and for providing Disney animated features with the villainess voice of Lady Tremaine in Cinderella (1950). Audley died from respiratory failure on November 25, 1991 and is interred at Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California
Betsy Paul, playing Donna, aside from her appearance in this episode, is known for Matinee Theatre (1955), Front Row Center (1955) and Lux Video Theatre (1950).
Mary Alan Hokanson (Dickie Sharp) was born on November 25, 1916 in Evanston, Illinois, and was an actress known for Them! (1954), Family Theatre (1949) and Guys and Dolls (1955). She died on February 15, 1994 in LaJolla, California, USA.
