Remember, this draft was largely panned as being pretty bad, almost dismal. So a #55 pick has relatively little value and when's the last time a #55 pick became a star--not a good role player? It's largely an inconsequential pick so no big deal to develop a 19yo with the bloodline of one of the greatest players ever. NBA players peak at ages between 24 and 30 so it's a low risk, high reward whether he becomes 'good' or not, and they have time to develop him for Lebron's last few years.

Great marketing opportunity for the team!! Father son on a NBA team together could bring in not only more viewers but even more butts in seats every night!!!

Rui Hachamura... okay.. so... I think they should watch a TON of Denver Nuggets film and focus on what Aaron Gordon does for that team and move Rui into that kind of role.

Good luck Bronny, we know there are multiple layers to this decision that was out of your control and you made yours as a young adult. I hope it doesnt brew into some toxic drama instigated by the people that brown nose around you

There’s a really big chance here for the Lakers to develop JJ Reddick first and foremost and with LeBron being Bronny’s father Bronny has a very high IQ for the game I can see him growing into a John Stockton player big on assist

Why is a "great franchise" like the Lakers letting LeBron straight up grift off of them?

If the Lakers fans thought they had a bad year, just wait for the season a kid that don't belong in the league fills their roster. I bet there is more minutes in a game than playtime he sees the whole season.

Bronny was always going to be Austin Rivers. Idk why everyone is surprised. The NBA has also been priming viewers up for years. Good or bad, Bronny will forever be remembered as the guy who got his chance in the NBA because his dad is LeBron James. Bronny is only getting one shot and this it. No one other NBA team besides the Lakers would make a move like this.

Tbh idk why so many people mad at this, Realistically if they drafted someone else at that much late of a pick, how much minutes would they even get ? I don’t see someone else being drafted at that number having some big impact. So Bronny was the best pick

Who tf was drafting a 6’1 sub average player with no specific lane that he dominated in? My boy averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game….. Fact of the matter is if he wasn’t Lebrons son he would have never been drafted… ever …

Word is his agent was warning every team not to draft him or face the wrath of The Agency. Weirdness all around. Entitlement and nepotism stench all over it.

I am not a Lebron fan and have rooted against him every year of his career except his years with kyrie. This man has been great for basketball. if a team wants to do him a solid and make his dream come true of playing in the NBA along with his son i don't have an issue with it. I hope the kid does well and has a productive career.

If he’s so calculated, why wouldn’t he take a Tom Brady-esque deal and leaves a ton of cash on the table for the Lakers to have the depth they desperately need. It’s not like he needs the money anyway. He wants championships right?

If this means the Lakers get Lebron’s youngest son, then I approve. The youngest son looks like a baller.
