The Tri-Corner region of California is where the northeast boundary of the state joins with the boundary of Nevada and Oregon. This is a remote and sparsely populated area not on any tourist map.
When California became a state in the mid-1800s, surveyors were hired to locate this corner that was established by Congress to be at the junction of 120 degrees west longitude and 42 degrees north latitude. With modern GPS, this location can be accurately found, but in the 1870s, the location was set incorrrectly but became the legal tri-corner of the 3 states.
My friend Cloud joined me to search for this monument in a remote plateau that very few people visit or even know about. Come join us on our search for the lost corner of California.
