Do you also have those abandoned ghost towns where you live?

Not many abandoned towns in the United States but there are vacant properties, and the grass is usually overgrown so it was very surprising to see the grass all very low cut. Very interesting to see this!

Sophie, we have a town exactly like this situation. Cheshire Ohio was bought by the Gavin coal-fired thermal power plant owner and is now a ghost town. Gavin is one of the largest coal plants in the US. After $300M of damages proved to be due to the coal pollution, the power company just bought the town and the people sold. I have been there 😪 You can search for: BBC The strange deal that created a ghost town By Harmon Leon, Gavin Power Plant. You have made a very poignant video. Please accept a hug Sophie 🤗 I do know what you mean.

It is incomprehensible to me that Germany shut down all of its nuclear plants to get more energy from coal.
@Jason-gq8fo

It’s kinda temporary. They are building a lot a of solar power, but they shouldn’t have turned off the nuclear power plants. Too late now though that decision was made a long time ago

No it's not, cause there was only a small part of 4% left, wich was before produced by the last nuckear plants, before they where completely shut off. And btw did we also never solved the problem with all the atomic waste.

On a cold winter eve, skies turned gray, Sophia strolled through a ghost town's decay. In the misty fog and relentless rain, she ventured, where shadows wane. Through the drizzle's dance and the fog's refrain, She found her path to the coal mine's domain.

Such a quaint little village. A shame to see all those nice houses rotting away and going to waste. Especially when we have cleaner and less impactful ways to produce energy. The quietness along with the overgrowth and overcast sky does make for some strikingly beautiful visuals though. Thanks for bringing us along, Soph. Cute doggos too.

I love the architecture on some of those homes. It's a shame to have them abandon. If they are mining why do people have to move it's as if someone is doing major upkeep on these properties. It is almost like a horror movie, the residents vanished over night. Cause that town is cleaner and looks better than a fully populated place.this was a great video. Enjoyed it tremendously.

Forgive me for the language, but... What the hell??? Those houses and building look pretty new as well, in most cases! 😳 It's definitely not like the abandoned, or partially abandoned, villages in our Appennini mountains (mostly central and southern Italy), which have been abandoned for even more than 80/90 years, in some cases, due to the fact that people moved to live and work in the cities.. Anyway, pretty cool video, I definitely enjoyed it!
@StardustASMR

Yea it looks like a totally normal village but it’s 80-90% empty. As I said since 2016 they have gradually started relocate people among other things to „new Keyenberg“ which is a new residential area. So it wasn’t that long ago compared to 80/90 years haha :) guess it would look different then too!

it doesn't look that overgrown. there should be tall grasses in some places if it were like abandoned areas somewhere near me. our grasses grow tall if they aren't mowed and kept up, as would our bushes. the bushes there don't look that big. did you say how long it has been abandoned? do certain things have a natural size there that doesn't change that much after some amount of time?
@StardustASMR
7 ай бұрын
Yes I said it at the beginning, since 2016 it has the repatriate status. And since 2017 they started building „new Keyenberg“, which is a new housing estate. So it gradually happened that more and more people/families left
