Thank you, Marcus. Regarding judgement and using judgement towards ourselves. I don't think this is a negative thing. There is always shadow and light and identifying these places, understanding the gradations is essential.

I think it's just a matter of definition. Every thought, in the end, is a judgement. The self-judgement I feel is negative, are the thoughts that promote guilt, low self-esteem, and self rejection. When we judge an action we do, or quality we have, as wrong, there is a natural consequence of pushing it away, repressing it, and disowning it. We can, however, discern that we have some unconscious programs, and see the same traits we hold onto, without labelling it as 'bad'. Instead, we can see it as unwanted, outdated, and something to work on. Which can be 'good'...semantics, a little...

@@marcusveysey yes, you are right, it is a bit of semantics here. I think judgement has gotten a bad rap when it is an important evaluation tool and a natural one also. We judge whether it is safe to cross a street...this can be taken deeper. Maybe it is the skill of discernment that I mean. Thanks for the conversation. S

@@smae433 I use the word 'discernment' for the more neutral judgements we have, that dont come with a shaking finger!

@@marcusveysey discernment...judging judgements, yes, good word. Sometimes I need that shaking finger even if it triggers a sense of shame or guilt or other 'bad' feelings. These mark the places that need my attention, need my work. Of course, the shaking finger is Mine for Me. Never mine for others or other for me.
