I think the haters hate how it's the quickest 0-60mph outside the gt500&even then on a non prepped surface? I'd bet on the mach e gt to win. Then it can actually sit 4 full size average adults comfortably, it can carry cargo easily enough. You can see out of it quite well. And of course it can run on sunshine, wind, hydro, geo thermal or nuclear. No gas guzzler can do that. Also they seem to forget the first ever coupe was a 6cyl weak little under powered car aimed at secretary's. Yes they even had commercials showing women driving them to the grocery stores back in the 60s. Plus the simple fact over 80% of all mustangs made didn't come with a v8 underhood. I uses to daily drive one with the 3.7 6cyl which ran 12s on radicals, low 13s on st tires it got 30+mpg hwy at 70+mph and cost me only 25k total. No gt of the time could match any of those figures brand new anyways. And anyone with issues about the mach e being a mustang? But accepts the mustang 2 as one. Well I just laugh. 😁

Tesla makes two sedans. I don’t think the ID3 is an SUV. The new VW people mover thing isn’t a SUV. An SUV was about ground clearance and 4wd. Great video as always from Jack, really informative and entertaining... But unfortunately yet another boring, big, heavy and expensive electric SUV. When will these car manufacturers realise that we need more small, light and affordable electric cars? Also another pet peeve of mine, is massive touchscreens in cars... They look ugly, aren't practical and are dangerous. You have to take your eyes off the road to be able to use them, unlike physical controls that you can operate by feel alone. You aren't allowed to use your phone whilst driving for this specific reason... But using what is essentially a tablet is fine. How does that make sense?

The cargo space is a joke for something that is supposedly a large SUV. That very raked rear profile really limits getting large items in. Car companies have to start investing more time in their UIs. Tesla is pretty good, and the updates are nice (although they’ve wained over the last couple of years), but when you consider the sheer scope of the possibilities given the typically available ev screen real estate these days, it is very disappointing to encounter tired looking or overly fiddly (or both) driver interfaces. I suspect we may have to wait for Apple’s long rumoured offering before the others wake up to this particular potential ROI they’ve been ignoring.

But Jack it is an EV, it is faster and more efficient than it's petrol equivalent. But why are these cars so expensive. We are not going to win the argument until we can make EV';s more affordable for everyone. We need to concentrate on the range and efficiency of affordable EV's and not the high end market.

!!! You can type that sort of thing on this site! I am very, very much in favour of EVs as a concept, apart from this ridiculous need for speed and performance. It seems to be a contradiction in terms to want to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions but continue to build massive EVs with massive motors ... and then in the next breath bleat on about the lack of range and the time taken to fully charge the battery. EVs aren't toys, as some some posters seem to believe, but a serious attempt to clean up the atmosphere and slow down the rate of increase in global warming. Having slightly excitable if not manic presenters seems another contradiction in terms. As before, where's James May?

A downside for me as a german would be the top speed. My Kia can easy go more than 200km/h and thins car cost way more. But to be fair, there are a lot of upsites to.

I don't agree with your dislike for SUVs, but to be honest, most of the “SUVs” you review aren’t SUVs at all. I believe that the industry is playing fast and loose with the term. Almost all of the “SUVs” you show are really 4-door coupes or hatchbacks. I believe that a true SUV should be a vehicle designed for rural use, have 4 doors, be true 4-wheel drive, have, slightly higher ground clearance, capable of at least basic off road use and have a squared off rear end capable of carrying large articles when needed.

Try running a Mustang car club which tries very hard to be all inclusive which does mean that this is a Mustang.

I would never buy one of these because I'm an arsehole. Ford were being arseholes when they named it Mustang so even though I like the car, I refuse to consider it until Ford wake up to themselves. To sum up, Ford and me, we arseholes.

Your videos are usually visual masterpieces, but the sped up segments in this one were annoying AF...please stop F'ing with time...it speeds up badly enough as we get older. That said, with the "bigger motor up front", that this us the US GT Performance model and not the GT.

I love it but I wish Ford would follow up this now years old car with something the rest of us can buy, it's amazing the world's most storied car maker apparently can't be bothered to do anything but mildly hybrid a 3cyl.

They can’t even get enough batteries for this and their electric truck currently. My bet is they have stuff, it’s the economies of scale issue that prevent them to announce it.

@@theklr I hope so, because they could get horribly, horribly left behind in a way that reminds me of "Blockbuster Video". 2008 told us the legacy makers are in no way invincible.

@@Yesterzine This isn't entertainment. Outside of Tesla (which even the CEO agrees is overvalued) most of the companies are underwater and barely can see each model get to production. Legacy makers have infrastructure to lean on, besides even the Chinese manufactures are just automotive companies who pivoted earlier than the others.

@@theklr What is interesting is that the new manufacturers like Tesla and Rivian both started out using factories set up by ICE car manufacturers. It makes a lot of sense as a car needs metal pressings, painting, suspension etc irrespective of drivetrain. Given their company values (Tesla $751 Billion, Ford $53 Billion) it wouldn't surprise me if one of the new companies bought an entire company like Ford.

Fortunately SUV is another brand that is being stretched beyond breaking point. For pretty much the same reason Mustang is, people don’t actually need the characteristics of that brand. All that’s will be left if marketing pretending those things actually still exist.
