Jörmingandr is the serpent that’s wrapped around the world. Nídhöggr is a dragon that gnaws at the roots of Yggdrasil. Then you have Vedrfölnir which is a hawk that sits between the eyes or a nameless eagle at the top of Yggdrasil. There is Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr, and Durathrór who are four stags that roam in and eat from the branches of Yggdrasil. Finally there is Ratatoskr, a squirrel that sends messages between the top and bottom of the tree.

2:04 - That isn't Garp at Rogers Execution, that seems to be Garp on his ship when its firing at the Going Merry which we have seen in trailers. So presumably he is using a megaphone den-den mushi to order Luffy to turn himself in our something. This is also Garp with whiter hair and suit, compared to during the execution when he wasn't as grey and wore a black suit.

13:10 Again, the inspiration for Dressrosa is specifically Parc Güell in Barcelona, and there's a colosseum in Barcelona. Specifically, a bullfighting arena called "La Monumental", and you know that's the inspiration of the Corrida Colosseum, because "bullfighting" in Spanish is said "Corrida de Toros". And while the bull fighting arena La Monumental was built in the early 1900s, 1 hour away from Barcelona, in Tarragona, there's the Tarraco Anfitheatre, a small Roman colosseum built in the II century a.d. There's nothing from the city of Rome in Dressrosa. The Roman empire built colosseums all over their territory, that expanded a massive chunk of Europe, and parts of Africa and Asia. Corrida Colosseum, in fact, doesn't look like the one in Rome (or like La Monumental either), it's just a generic Roman Empire colosseum

Really enjoy Oda’s use of Norse metrology. I think we will learn about the origins of the red line in Elbaf and how the ancient giants, like Oars, created it. My hope is that the redline is the world serpent. If so, maybe the red line theory is accurate. The redline might be the world serpent and Luffy, a god, will destroy it. Based the fact that Loki is the king of Elbaf, the world serpent is a giant, and the enemy of the giants is the gods I think it would be a solid theory. Also, the whole idea of the all blue being created and the destruction of fish man island.

The way you describe how Oda world builds reminds me a lot Zelda and I like that. The lore goes really deep but it's not overall important to the plot. It's just something extra that would help you understand the story a little more on a deeper level. Most of what you would find lore wise in Zelda is in side content or books and interviews. Getting into One Piece and hearing Oda does a similar thing makes me appreciate it more than I already do.

It's also impressive how Oda manages to make islands we've never even seen before feel just as real and layered as the ones the Strawhats have been to. Vira for example, a small country overrun by revolutionaries, has only been passably mentioned two times in the entire story (chapters 96 & 228), yet there's still lots of things you could talk about concerning it. In fact, discussions about Vira only become richer as time goes on. I personally believe that's where Sabo will fulfill his promise to Cobra and finally meet-up with Luffy & Vivi, and right now I can just picture an entire hypothetical arc flashing through my mind. Talking about One Piece with others feels like sitting around a globe and just spinning it around, looking at all the cool places and interesting names, it's just so captivating and fun

if you think about it, the one piece world's technology disparaties aren't even too different than our own. A lot of remote islands and poorer countries don't have quite the same resources as richer, more developed ones, so their infrastructure and resources reflect that (ie, electric devices being used more sparingly, communication being spottier/more retro) This has changed somewhat in recent years, of course, but it really makes sense.
