Curious, what is the significance of 2.374x? Didn’t see it mentioned in the video.

Well, looks like you just got clickbaited! Jokes aside, the point of the video (that I should've made clearer in hindsight) is that there is no single "magic" RFI size. But if we understand the logic behind it, we can adjust our raise size not just by position, but according to our opponents' tendencies as well. And this is the true purpose of studying GTO.

At the lowest online stakes I went back to 3x opens from 2.5x - 3 bet bluffs are less common and people call a lot more hands so it's better to open larger with a slightly tighter, more linear range.

Great explanation as always! The pizza metaphor clarifies incentives to open larger or smaller. I am curious about that magic 2.374x number in the thumbnail though!

On RunItOnce you said that in multiway spots, opponent's mistake can lower your EV for the benefit of the third player. My question is: can a unopened BTN situation be considered as a 3way pot? A common spot is when there is a loose rec on SB and a reg on the BB. How would you adjust to this situation? Maybe quit the table ?

Yes, some of your EV will get "transferred" to the BB, since he is allowed to squeeze wider after SB flats. I would tighten up and maybe use a slightly bigger size.

Nice video, but i didnt understand a thing. How does the raise size from BTN impact the range we can open? I mean if you open for 3bb the range should be different from the range that you use if you open 2.5.

Great question! We saw in the video that BB tightens up as we increase our raise size, and at some point we will no longer be a favourite to win the pot. What BTN can then do is tighten up accordingly, in order to counteract this effect. And this is why we are allowed to open less hands for 3bb compared to 2.5. I tried to keep things simple in the video, but in reality it's a bit more complicated. You can still raise to 3bb with a tight range and have the majority share of the pizza--but since you are opening less often, your overall EV is still lower because you don't put yourself in a profitable spot as often.

@@PokerGiraffe is this not exploitable as you are raising higher with better hands and lower with worse?

Why many regs choose to open 2.2x from early position instead of 2x ?

When it comes to preflop, we need to take solver outputs with a pinch of salt. The overall trend might be clear (open smaller from EP), but the exact sizes are very sensitive to parameters (for example the way you structure the gametree). It's also possible 2.2x is more effective in practice, because people are calling too much/not 3betting enough!
