Billie Holiday sings "When Your Lover Has Gone", a song that would be added to her repertoire in the mid 1950's. It takes three takes to complete the song, and Lady even sings a little bit of "Trouble Is A Man". Maybe it was a song she wanted to record?
For those who don't know, "Velvet Mood" is the only Billie Holiday album out of print. The songs can be found on the 1994 re-issue of Music for Torching.
Heard talking is Lady, Jimmy Rowles, Harry Sweets Edison, Barney Kessel, Ben Webster, Norman Granz, and other band mates.
