Interview with actress Michela De Rossi who plays Giuseppina Bruno in the Sopranos prequel THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK which arrives in cinemas and to stream this week. The movie from director Alan Taylor is a look at the formative years of New Jersey gangster Tony Soprano who rose to fame in HBO's The Sopranos.
Michela De Rossi is an Italian actress, known for The Many Saints of Newark (2021), Boys Cry (2018) & The Rats (2018), Io e spotty and Django. The plot of the new Many Saints movie see's Young Anthony Soprano (played by Michael Gandolfini - Son of legendary actor James Gandolfini) growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark's history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family's hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities and whose influence over his nephew will help make the impressionable teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we'll later come to know: Tony Soprano.
