Another excellent, very lucid and helpful reading of some key concepts. Many thanks Professor Buchanan. I'm ordering my copy of Assemblage Theory and Method today!

If biopolitics is "what life does to itself," then politics is what society does to itself, a universal history of coldness and cruelty--every socius is a masochistic assemblage.

Professor Ian, I just finished reading your doctoral thesis on the concept of heterology and found it fascinating. I have been worrying in a very similar way to you, about the silence of the other, especially because I study very specific ethnic groups in Brazil, composed of remnants of quilombos (organizations composed of runaway slaves who offered resistance to slavery in the colonial period) and any representation of these groups seems unjust. I noticed that your most recent work has focused on the contributions of Deleuze and Guattari, but I would like to know if what is proposed in the Assamblage still involves Certeaunian thought. Thanks in advance!

Sir, regarding Ray Brassier's accusations of MP (that the openness that D&G invoke is hermetically sealed to anything that isn't already enveloped by this logic of intensification, which is at the heart of the book), is there some kind of an answer that you could provide? kzitem.info/news/bejne/q32p2KGPjnOenY4
