Ernest movies usually have him in disguises as well. At least they are amusing and are on screen for a minute and don't overstay their welcome. Ernest can be grating at times too, but he'll know when to pull the zaniness back during scenes where you feel some empathy for him.

...according to Dana. According to basically everyone else, it's a Lorne Michaels impression (which is EASY to hear), which EVERYONE FROM SNL has basically had a version of, since before Dana.. lol I think he needs (needed to) to get over himself n the fact he didnt have all of the tools necessary to take off on his own. Claiming a Lorne Michals impression is yours, is as dumb as claiming a Christopher Walken impression is yours lol They're ubiquitous in the comedy world.
@jimvarney511
3 жыл бұрын
@@cessxiii wrong. carvey was the first to do the impression and future impressions were modeled after his. doing an impression of lorne at that point was niche, it was not comparable to something "everyone does." also, carvey created the pinky-touching-the-mouth gesture, so mike myer's ripoff was blatant.

Dana Carvey hates Mike Myers because he says Mike stole his impression of Lorne Michaels and used it for Dr. Evil. Michaels is the producer of SNL for those that don't know. By the way Dana Carvey has a small cameo in Halloween 2 as an ambulance driver. Weird because the killer is Michael Meyers in that film! What a coincidence.

Thinking back on it, this movie shares a LOT of similarities with Austin Powers in Goldmember and they both came out around the same time. Plot wise; both movies are about goofy spy-like characters with "unique" sets of skills and real roundabout ways of fighting crime. (Austin being a weird seductive British secret agent and Pistachio being a "Master of Disguise") Both feature love interests that are way out of the main characters league and ironically also feature scenes with attractive henchwomen to the main villain, wearing a color scheme matching the villain, who seduce the main character. (One of Bowmans blonde henchwomen with the large butts in the end credits to Master of Disguise also was a henchwoman to Goldmember in Austin Powers) The plot to Goldmember AND Master of Disguise focus on rescuing family members (Austins father and Pistachios parents) Both feature the main actors portraying MULTIPLE other characters in the plot. The only difference is that Goldmember was the THIRD Austin Powers movie and Master of Disguise BLESSINGLY didn't get a sequel. Scarily though, MOD was a financial success, THEY COULD HAVE A SCRIPT SOMEWHERE AT HAPPY MADISON FOR A SEQUEL TO THIS CRAZY MESS...

About the 9/11 thing, I was working nights at the time. I was driving home and heard on the radio that a plane had hit one of the towers, but nobody knew how serious it was yet or what was going on. Everyone was pointing out that it wasn't the first time a plane had hit one of the buildings and they were even cracking jokes about it. I remember it as clearly as yesterday; my birthday came in the summer months and it was near. That is when the advertisements for this movie began, at least to my recollection. At the time, my nine year old mind had no idea of Dana Carvey or Mike Myers, only the hilarious antics performed in front of me on the television through the like of Wayne's World and Austin Powers. When I saw my first commercial for 'Master of Disguise' it was the first time in my life I thought to myself: "something about this movie just seems really bad". I will always thank this film for making me begin to critically think and not just 'watch' them. Films such as these provide a sort of lesson, something to be shown to ardent students. Thank you for making this.

Meet the Spartans did the whole "put the deleted scenes & bloopers in the end credits" thing too & for the same reason, not being long enough. But the weird part is, the stuff in the end credits was funnier than the actual movie! They literally cut out all the funny parts! Meet the Spartans was the second most horrible spoof I'd ever seen. 2001: A Space Oddity was the worst, which is sad, because Leslie Nielsen was in it. He played the president. You could totally tell he was subbing for Lloyd Bridges, who I think died just before shooting started. Stan Helsing was the third, which is even sadder, because it was the last movie Leslie Nielsen ever did. He played a waitress in a truck stop diner. Yes, I said waitress, not waiter.
