Kalashnikov and Stoner are two legendary creators. Russia and the USA are two great countries. Our countries need to communicate more and not be at enmity. Best regards from Russia.

Perfect example of what you see happens with people from opposite sides of the same coin when you minus all the propaganda, there were tons of parallels in their stories despite what people say and based on some of the laughs they got out of each other on bureaucratic issues, I would easily say they shared loads more in common with each other than not and their collaboration/friendship was testament to that.

What a remarkable video! I knew that at some point Kalashnikov visited and met Stoner but I always assumed it was a token photo-op type thing and didn’t realize how much more to it there was, including a international friendships that involved multiple visits to both countries. Just fascinating stuff. Thanks for creating this!

This was so fucking awesome to watch and was an absolute pleasure. As a young mechanical engineer fascinated by these twos work it was quite an enjoyable mini documentary behind the scenes on the recordings. I enjoyed living vicariously through the men who got to spend time with both of them however I might of cried if I ever got to meet either of these two great men in person out of star struckness 😅

There was hot water in the Soviet Union despite what these guys thought 😆 Kalashnikov was probably surprised that they had hot water out in the country, as to him it was a dacha-like setting and at dachas, which is a summer home really, you usually only had just a "summer shower" which is nothing more than a big water container elevated a few meters off the ground, heated by the sun and dispersed via a garden hose )
@GarandGuy2553
7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think that was implied given they were talking about being out in the country. I don’t think it was a blanket statement about the country as whole. Same when they discussed owning cars, ect.

The Kalashnikov was not designed by Hugo Schmeiser in any way, shape, or form…The Kalashnikov’s internal system is more closely related to the Garand than anything else.

if schmeiser designed it then why would Kalashnikov have all of the ak prototypes
