As I understand it, the crew interphone chatter was recorded, then later re-recorded in a studio and cleaned up abit.

@@martynmcnulty782 Is it part of a series? It seems to be a sort of training for new recruits. I downloaded it from the Library of Congress and it didn’t seem to be part of a series.

Life Lesson - When The Flack Is Thickest Is When You Know You Are Right Over The Target. Btw. Fun Fact. 0:07 The roman numerals MDCCLXXVIII on the emblem read 1778 - the year of the official formation of the first war department called the War Office . 37:20. Stick around for the suprise ending. It hearkens to yet another fantastic movie "The King's Speech" .

The Army Air Forces before fighter escort was finally authorized into Germany and back, had the highest mortality rate - second to The Marines who fought in the Pacific... 🇺🇸

The highest overall percentage of men lost was in the submarine service, then the 8th Airforce, followed by the USMC, if i remember correctly. You can look it up if you want. Suffice it to say that they were all heroes of the highest order, and all are worthy of our undying gratitude.

@@stargazer5784 The US Submariner's mortality rate was about 20%. While high, it pales in comparison w/the poor German Submariner who faced over a 70% chance of death,.

Thx for posting this classic. Those who don't study history are doomed to repeat it. If we had a better educated voter base today, with more people watching videos like yours and actually learning something, the orange fool wouldn't have a stranglehold on our political system. One piece of equipment that was standard issue in WW2 was a BS detector, and the brave souls who flew in the Mighty 8th would have seen through his line of crap in a heartbeat.
